Seiko owes you money. Excellent photography and description. This video is what finally made me purchase this watch. Also subscribed.

Nice review. I have the SBDC2143 JDM version. Standouts are the blue lume and the single dome clear AR crystal. Many call this the gray Willard, but I think it presents more as brown due to the "patina look" on the lume and bezel. I like to call it the "tropical" Willard. The fabric straps are good, but I prefer to wear mine on a rubber strap. Finally, the 6R35 movement gets a bad rap. Seiko recommends to wind 50 times for full wind. Mine runs at a consistent +6.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The 'tropical' Willard with that patina look sounds awesome. Glad to hear your 6R35 is running consistently too!

Thanks for sharing your insights! The 'tropical' vibe with that patina look must be stunning on the SBDC2143. Enjoy your +6 consistent runner!

Own the Steel Dive homage. Love it. Definitely on my top 10 list of fave watches for sure. Also a huge fan of the film so I just had to have it 😈 🤘🏼

Great video. I own the green dial captain Willard. A great design and a great watch for the price. But not a precise movement by any means. Even after a regulation, it is still deviating a lot per day. Could be 20 to 40 seconds depending on the position

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That green dial Willard is a stunner for sure. It's a bummer to hear about the precision though. Hopefully, it adds to the watch's character!

A great watch for sure, do they still make it, I don't see it on the website .

Yeah, I don’t see it on the Seiko Canada website either. I just hate it when Seiko silently discontinues non-limited watches so quickly. The good thing is that there are still a fair number available at Seiko dealers.

The are all (mostly) sold out. However, there is an authorized Seiko dealer (Morgan Jewelers) in Idaho that has one, that has not sold yet.

Nice in-depth review with great photography. I have the JDM version, the size is good for my 7.5 inch wrist, the straps are well made and very supple. I wear mine on the grey strap as I feel the colour matches the dial perfectly. Subscribed

Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed the review and found a perfect match with the grey strap. Appreciate the subscription!

I don't know why you are referring to this watch as "The Willard", Seiko don't. It's the SLA 033 that is the 1970 reissue, not this model.

Those straps cost $237.00!! For cloth strap?🙀🙀🙀

The Bezel of this model is very stiff ...I would say too much.
