Seinabo Sey is actually half Swedish and half Gambian! All of you people that keep thinking it's all about being black it might not be? It's very common here in Sweden to be mixed nationality and all you Americans stop using the word black and race. For me I don't see people as colour or race but more as how interesting it is with mixed nationality❤️

Just to keep it real....What you just mentioned is a cultural thing. It's very common to be ethnically/racially mixed in the United States as well. Almost every person who identifies as being African American or Black isn't completely of African descent. For instance, I identify as Black American even though technically speaking my African heritage only comprises 60% of my DNA. There is a notion called the one drop rule...that wasn't created by black americans at all and is something that we still live with today. Race is part of the backbone of America. The only person who knows what this song is about is the person who wrote it. That is the beauty of music, the listener may interpret what they want to.
