From my teenage days til today I only wear cargo pants, and every pocket has it's purpose. I just put my pants on and I'm ready to go, knowing it's all there. I don't have to carry anything in my hands or have it hanging around my neck to get in my way, worry about leaving it somewhere. And it's also practical for my job. And years ago I switched from wallet to a simple thin leather card holder, and never went back. I just find wearing a bag to be impractical.

Seinfeld is definently not the first sitcom that does this. No European men actually carry something like this. Most European men are even more conservative when it comes to dressing up, than in the US. I tried carrying a hand bag for a while and I love it! It was great to have all my stuff so neatly organised in lots of different pockets and all zipped up in one bag. It was so easy to just grab my bag and off I'd go without having to remember, keys, wallet, sunglasses etc etc. Honestly I don't see anything wrong with a guy carrying a handbag. It's actually very practical. And if you want one that looks feminine, so what? Who really cares? If people are gonna judge based on that they're weak minded.
