I remember one AnimeNewsNetwork review on Saint Seiya from 20 years ago claimed that the female characters were "shafted to the side and given practically no character development at all"....but Shaina literally dismantles and disproves that argument. One also ironic thing is how in the Japanese version, both Seiya and Shaina's seiyuu, Tōru Furuya and Mami Koyama respectfully, were once married (already divorced at this point when they were recording for the anime, but I assume still on terms with each other).

Yes, even though Saint Seiya is a male-dominant seriesthe small number of female characters were actually developed very well. They all have very interesting personality and back story. ❤️ You're definitely right about Shaina, and come to think about it, Marin, Shunrei, Miho and Esmeralda are all so lovely and so memorable. Even Seika who only appeared a little bit, is a memorable character, too. 😍😍😍

I love this history, is very perfect talking about the love of Shaina, and if you pay attention, maybe you can see than Seiya is in love with Shaina, I hope in the future, they may be together, and well, I love a lot Saint Seiya, is my favorite anime, and if I can write the history, Seiya and Shaina would be married. Yes I think Seiya and Shaina are very very cute together! 🥰I'm afraid there won't be much happening between Seiya and Shaina in the coming chapters of The Next Dimension that Kurumada is going to release. The coming chapters will also be the last ones of the Saint Seiya canon world, so... the story hangs there. However, you can write your own fanfiction, why not, or draw them being with each other in your own fan art! That'd be really lovely! 😍😍😍

Seiya is clearly in love with Shaina since he was a child, with her he shows a sweetness and a kindness that he never shows with Saori, just think of the pony scene, or with Miho with whom there are also jokes and teasing. It reminds me a little of Naruto's story with Hinata, it is clear that between the 2 there is a feeling since childhood but then he spends a hundred episodes playing the "playboy" with other girls, she seems shy but in the moment of need she declares by putting her life at risk against a superior enemy. He thinks about it a bit but in the end he understands who true love is, Naruto takes 700 episodes to figure it out, Seiya I hope less. During their first fight in the first episode when she kicks him, Seiya replies that he doesn't want to hurt a woman anyway and he even starts smiling as if he would rather die than kill her. Shaina is the first person Seiya explicitly compliments her physical beauty after breaking her mask and smiles at her again. Even when he fights with her he never shows contempt or resentment like he does against Saori. In the scene of the declaration in episode 37 he embraces her and consoles her by telling her that she will not die and then Seiya protects Shaina by asking Aiolia to forgive her, he also wants to avenge her by immediately risking his life against Aiolia, despite her presenting herself as an enemy up to a few minutes before. Seiya worries about her when he meets her on the stairway of poisonous roses, she is the last person he sweetly greets her before going to the fight with Saga. Seiya wants to help her during the fight with Tetis, when Shaina is defeated by Poseidon, he is the first to hear and help her. He embraces her and hugs her like he never does with any other woman. Seiya and Shaina are placed close in the final scene of the episode, Shaina is for the first time in civilian clothes and without a mask as if the problem has been solved. Shaina risks her life to save Seika and Seiya attacks Thanatos when Shaina is shot, even when they are away he tries to protect her. Kurumada himself then in the Next Dimension focuses almost the entire plot on the importance of Ophiucus Saint. Kurumada then underlines the link between Ophiucus and Sagittarius which in a sense is the second constellation of Seiya. During the Holy War of 1700 Athena is a very marginal character, treated very hastily in a couple of chapters after 15 years of publication and there is certainly nothing romantic between "Athena" and "Pegasus". Honestly, I am amazed that there are still such discussions about who favors Seiya between Shaina, Saori and Miho. His relationship with Miho is evident and obvious, Seiya was about to declare himself to her before leaving for Athena but when the part of her fighting begins she disappears and he doesn't mention her anymore. Seiya x Saori has absurd and senseless success, I mean Saori is one who tortures people for fun, blackmails and humiliates. Do Saint Seiya fans know that in the real world you end up in prison doing what Saori and the Kido family do? In the real world, no normal person would call Saori's cruelty love. So why does the exact opposite of the obvious happen in the Saint Seiya fandom?

Hi, such an in-depth analysis about love!!! 😊☺️ Thank you very much for this. ❤️ Well people do have different backgrounds, experience and mindsets.... so I guess it's natural that fans come up with different scenarios and possibilities... not only based on what happened in the manga and the anime... but also what people love to believe in, or love to happen... And to me, that's totally sweet! 😍 There are different reasons why people love Saint Seiya, and that may be one of them.... 😃 You're definitely an avid fan - nice to know you. I don't know what problem it is, but I can see from Notifications that there are two other comments of yours on the Seiya-Saori video, but could not find them in the comment section of that video itself, therefore couldn't reply you! You're wrong about Saori / Athena. She was a spoiled 6 year old when she did what you are talking about and throughout the series the entire point is we see her GROW into the being of light and love that she is. Saori may be the goddess Athena but she isn't perfect she makes mistakes like a human but it should be clear to even the most bias individuals that she is a being of love and compassion as the story progresses. I'm a Seiya x Shaina shipper too and I feel it's the the best out of his 3 love interests but I need to call you out on the Saori / Athena bashing because it's not ok and it's not true. There are so many examples of Saori showing compassion and love towards others that I am shocked and appalled at your comments. Example her compassion towards Gemini Kanon is what swayed his heart and made him finally become a hero. She showed genuine compassion and concern for Seiya and the other bronze Saints and showed that she truly deeply cared for the safety and happiness of the people of Earth. I mean just countless times honestly go re watch the fricking series or something. Also in SS Omega ( I know different continuities etc ) Seiya lives at Saori's side by the end but I feel Seiya's feelings for all three women are more complex then " he chooses this one or that one. " I am convinced Seiya loves all 3 equally in a way and that it's possible he has been in relationships with all 3 at times. We don't know what happens off camera/panel. I ship him with Shaina first and foremost but I won't deny the other two ships. Even him being at Saori's side at the end of Omega still doesn't concretely mean he chooses one over the other For what it's worth the SS wiki mentions in something called No Cvidania " The story unfolds after the battle against Hades. All knights recover after defeating Hades with only parts of their armor left on the body. However, with the defeat of Hades, the other knights thus manage to have a calm after defeating Hades. Hyoga starts to leave the group and sends a message saying No Cvidania (in Russian it means up to one day). Shun later went to see Seiya who was in the port. Seiya is thoughtful and remembers Miho and how much she liked him, as did Shaina and Saori. He also remembers the fight he had with Shiryu in the Galactic war and the story ends. " So honestly I actually think that Seiya loves them equally but his feelings for each girl is different yet romantic. Seiya was always shown to have a particular soft spot and love for women. There's times with all 3 girls where it felt like they were going to kiss or become a couple. Some people may hate the idea but maybe Seiya is a polygamist lol. I'm not really even saying it as a joke. I think he's got equal feelings for the girls. If we look at who Seiya is deep down at the very core of his being I feel he is so full of love that he truly cares for them all the same. I think this is why they never show without a shadow of a doubt him settling down. Personally if I had to ship him with just one I would go with Shaina but all 3 ships are sweet in their own way.

This is personally my favorite of the 3 Seiya ships honestly. I don't dislike the other two in fact I enjoy them but to me if I had to pick just one girl for Seiya it's Shaina hands down. That being said I feel it's much more complicated than Seiya just choosing one girl over the others. I actually believe that Seiya loves all three Shaina , Saori and Miho equally but it's unique for each girl. Some people will get mad at me but we don't know what happens off screen / panel. " To me there are scenes with all 3 love interests where it feels like Seiya will tie the knot and get with them. I am watching Saint Seiya Omega and I hear ( slight spoiler ahead ) he lives with Saori in sanctuary or is by her side at the end but to me it really feels like Seiya loves all 3 of them. I mean Omega is like 25 years after the original series. We don't know everything that has transpired between Seiya , Shaina , Saori and Miho but look at Seiya as a person. Seiya is never the type to throw anyone away. No matter what ended up happening I do believe Seiya loves all 3 women uniquely in his own way. He was shown to have a particular soft spot for women as early as episode 1 of the original series.

"Do Cvidanija" (Variant: Do Svidaniya) I believe was an animation made by fans, so they lead the story where they wanted it to go. I watched the trailer - very beautiful geaphic they had!
