“This will be the black army, and this will be the….. gold army” that’s prudence right there

Just for clarifying: you dont have to show the leader to your opponent. You can just declare the existence of a leader block by telling your opponent, that there is a leader present.

Thanks for making this video. This game is often spoke of as "elegant" but it fails to have a streamlined order of play in its player aid and frankly after multiple readings of the rules I find some aspects of the game unintuitive. I think the game really benefits from having someone teach it to you. Your video was helpful in getting this game to the table.

Jonathan Davis - thanks. This game really is a treat when played to its fullest. I’m glad I was able to help you learn it.

Thank you for have made this video. I think on minute 14:20, when you use the second move as bonus cause kyoto is a capital, you can´t since you start the move in Osaka and not in Kyoto.

By the way, that is by far the best sekigahara video tutorial. Great work!

I know im super late but at 28:40 you say a unit thats being besieged can retreat to another location. Is that really true? I always thought they would still be "trapped" in the castle
@CynicallyAwesome4 жыл бұрын
according to my rulebook, there's nothing saying that you can't retreat out of a castle. I do have the third printing however, it's possible that a future print changed the rules a bit, but i wouldn't know

@@CynicallyAwesomefirst of all thanks for the answer!! i have the third printing too and i cant seem to find this rule. I may have misunderstood since english is not my first language. Would it be possible to quote the rule? Im new to Sekigahara and played it first time a couple of days ago Thanks for the video it helped a lot Edit: ah sorry i guess you are right. Theres nothing saying they cant retreat. But doesnt the rules says something like if the the enemy cant defeat you your units are being besieged and co exist in this location? I mean how can a unit retreat from a castle if there are ten thousands of enemy warriors waiting outside? Edit: whats the point of leaving two blocks in a castle then if the enemy only needs to destroy one block and force the enemy to retreat and take over the castle? Also do I lose the second block for having lost the siege battle just like it is in combat out on the battlefield? The more I think about it the more confused I get haha the rules are a lot digest for a boardgame noob like myself

Besieged units cant be moved out of their location for any reason. Section 8.9.6 of the Siege rules. Been there since the first printing.

Great video (though FYI, it's CAV-al-ry, not CAL-va-ry).
