For those who have played both games. just remember ninja gaiden 2 on master ninja.. what Ryu its capable of... Sekiro is not able to take down countless mobs of elite ninjas and demons face to face like Ryu does. Also Ryu can kill literally demon gods (i will not spoil) but Ryu faces greater threaths than Sekiro across 3 games, Sekiro has to deal with the mortal blade but so does Ryu with the Dark Dragon blade

Sekiro will struggle (but not lose) when out numbered 5 to one, while Ryu is used to handling small armies for an extended period of time The immortal blade has nothing on the True Dragon Sword and blade of the Archfiend. The Giant Serpent and Dragon in sekiro are slow as fuck, they might as well be minibosses in a ninja gaiden title. Sekiro's ressurection won't matter if Ryu can kill the second he gets back up.

@@Fulcron13 You're downplaying the strengths of the Ninja Gaiden bosses while over playing Sekiro's combat arts. Genshin can make short work of Genichiro in his initial form. Sure those moves are useful on the context of the game but are very trivial when going up against Ryu. Ryu is way faster than Sekiro even without flying swallow. Sekiro can hardly close the distance on his enemies at the same rate Ryu does. Just take a look at the ultimate techniques, QTEs from razors edge, and just the overall cutscenes on easy it is for Ryu to get close. Ryu is basically capable of doing almost anything Sekiro can. Hell, he doesn't even need the prosthetic grappling hook. He'll probably take down the divine dragon faster than sekiro can (maybe be even compliment lightning reversals with ninpo.) I mean, Ryu did take down the Dark dragon (DS) and the archfiend among many other giant enemies. You're only using the "don't base it on gameplay " argument because you have no cutscenes to prove Sekiro's canonical combat prowess. There was no footage of him moving lightning fast. Ryu has 3 games with footage proving he's faster than most of Sekiro's repertiore, more if you count DOA and the horrible spin-off. (I won't count Warriors orochi) I wouldn't be surprised if Ryu could break Kusabi Maru and the rest of Sekiro's tools. Resurrection ain't gonna do much of Sekiro has no weapons. Too bad he can't use ninpo as well as Ryu when unarmed.

The guy was literally jumping from building to building and cutting down choppers and planes. I don't really have any evidence that Sekiro can beat Ryu... Anything Sekiro can do, Ryu has done on a larger scale. In Gameplay and lore. You talk as if the guardian ape is some big deal for Ryu, it's not. He can beat that thing even with the presence of mobs.

Ryu is bordering superhero and stands alongside the likes of Dante from DMC. He's killed Soldiers, tanks, choppers and giant demons effortlessly. Sekiro, comes from a methodical and grounded combat system and lore. He's way weaker than Ryu because he's just a talented Shinobi. Ryu can kill him the second he gets back up. If he uses the immortal blade, Ryu also has the True dragon sword and blade of the archfiend But that's what made his game special, every attack against you had weight.

Both can parry just about anything, both have become masters in martial arts by training their entire lives. Both can revive themselves for a second chance. Ryu might have an edge regarding physical strength because he withstood the full strength of a titan in NG3 against Kana in titan form wielding a much bigger variant of the dragon sword. Regarding superpowers Ryu might also have an edge because he has lots of projectile magic that packs a punch *AND CAN LITERALLY TURN INTO A FUCKING DRAGON* Which isn't to say Sekiro can't kill dragons, he has before just ones that don't scale as high as Ryu. Also Ryu takes any kind of endurance because he literally tanked nuclear explosions and emerged unscathed. Honestly, Ryu wins.

Sekiro gets absolutely washed... The fact Ryu can withstand holding the True Dragon Sword ( which kills you if you dont have a strong enough body, mind and spirit which literally very few have) Ryu can simultaneously wield the direct opposite of the True Dragon Sword that being the Blade of the Archfiend (also the True Dragon Sword and the Blade of the Archfiend do have side effects on reality one reason the True Dragon Sword isn't used as much as it's opposite)... Homie i like Sekiro but died tryna pick up swords of these caliber, plus Ryu can throw blackholes and has much better feats such as taking on the devil, the devil amped by the blood of Dragon lineage l,the literal incantation of evil, all of the Fiends twice and them being amped, a Dragon goddess, and his evil self multiple times and multiple times he was weakened like with the Grip of Murder

Combat goes to Sekiro?!?! Ryu is a weapon master (master of many or all weapons/styles) and master of hayabusa-ryu ninjutsu, which is heavy in hand-to-hand combat. He's also a master of ninpo (ninja magic) which gives him some of his dumbest hacks.

Before posting a comparison like that. i would highly, highly encourage you to go through the ninja gaiden lore. Hayabusa has a plethora of abilities that has not been shown in his games yet. and his combo potential in using them is insane. Either you dont have all the facts known of him or you just prefer Sekiro over Hayabusa. You would get Sekiro Killed in a fight like that. Even with Sekiro's ability to resurrect. you bet he will learn or already knows about the Mortal Blade. and Cut Sekiro in half before he blinks. And yes Literally before sekiro blinks; Hayabusa has teleportation, and cloning a ability as well being fast as all hell.

Fuck sigma 2 Murai literally became a god in the 1st ninja Gaiden and Ryu still won and that was when Ryu was still green. The time Ryu first trained with Murai was the first time he left his village since he was still the "young master" at the time. That means by the end of the first game he was already able to kill gods and it's not like he wasn't killing demon generals and gods already.

Ok I haven’t played the series in a while but ryu is probably if not the least underated video game character. Dude is in the same realm of power as kratos and Dante. Ryu is descended from the dragon lineage( 8 eternal Dragons pooled their essence into the humans at the time that helped fight against the dark dragon . Keep in mind these 9 dragimas before the dark dragon incident had vanquished cosmic entities (important for later) and the 9th and strongest had give t the other 8 so much trouble they needed humans whom are the current hayabusa clan to help defeat him. Later during the first 3D ninja gaiden game ryu was called into action against the vigoorian emporer whom is entity that is stronger than the dark dragon whom beat 8 divine dragons who subbdued cosmic entities . Ryu uncle had gotten corrupted end brung back the vigoorians emporer power into himself along with the dark dragon blad which is said to amps the user beyond comprehension and be unbreakable. And ryu defeated him easily and with the true dragon sword with the eye of the dragon cleaved the dark dragon blade in half effortlessly . Atp ryu vanquished a universal + level threat I’m the second game ryu faces the 4 greater fiends whom are rulers of 4 parts of the underworld which is infinite in size. Ryu defeats the greaterfiends of blood, beast , fire, and lightineng not once in the living world but a second time in the underworld where the greater fiend of fire stated( in the underworld is fiends power is absoulute with no equal). Ryu defeats all four of the fiends easily in the underworld and then defeats the priest dagra dia whom was much stronger than the four greater fiends and also sacraficed himself to the arch fiend vazdah whom In the past was stronger than the vigoorian emporer and the dark dragon . The same arch fiend that took the entirety of the dragon ninja clan to not kill but SEAL him inside of the underworld. Ryu fights the revived arch fiend and defeats him easily : in the entirety of the first 2 games this is one of the only cutscenes we’re ryu has a cut.. a drop of blood falls from his arm onto the now deceased arch fiend vazdah causeing him to eveoble like a Pokémon into a version exponentially stronger than what multiple dragon ninja had to seal and guess what .. ryu straight up defeats him easily . An amped arch fiend in the underworld that was much stronger than anything before and ryu destroyed him . He defeated 2 universal + beings without any struggle at all . 3rd game ryu is cursed with the grip of murder which inflicts the pain of every single being the person being cursed has killed. A nerfed ryu then proceeds to run through a gauntlet of genetically modified beings capable of nuking cities and destroying everything . And while nerfed he put and end to them all. After getting the grip of murder removed he then defeats the goddess whom was going to wipe the earth surface if life in 5 days to build a new empire and again ryu defeats her easily and also saved the child inside of the goddess whom was also amped by the blood of the dragon lineage . Ryus abilities stated by the creator are present all the time through the 3 games and the gameplay is down played becayse ryu can literally one shot ever villain we fight .. So abilities •Super strength •Teleportation (cidca charge and he’s seen teleporting anywhere like goku in dead or alive ) •Had all of his amulets equipped which boost attack defense and passively heals ryu. Ryu also had a ninpo that can heal him by producing blue orbs and in the third game ryu can use ki to heal himself so he has 3 different firms to heal himself • super speed cabablr if dodging lasers and lightinening easily • summons a literal black hole • summons flames that burn Amy evil away as shown with the greater fiend of flame whom was burned into nothingness •summons wind blades that can cut through anything • is a weapons master • wields the true dragon blade that negates healing and is stated it can cut through anything • has the ability to always know where any enemy is •invisibility • flight • can turn into a falcon at will • can revive himself in the event of death •swam in lava •can run on water • in ninja gaiden Z ryu uppercut another ninja 8-900 ft into the air whilst in mid air then in mid air propelled himself past the ninja then proceeds to do an izuna drop that set a shockwave equivalent to a Moab In the older games ryu can stop time, make clones , abd a bunch of other over powered broken stuff .. But yes ryu is by feats Uni+ or low multi with irrelevant speed ,can passively heal and can actively heal, insanely fast , can deflect bullets , and make black holes that negate durability .. also had a in verse version of a light saber on steroids that only he can wield.. I know its a lot of typos but bare with my. That’s all off of memory of playing the games I could be missing some stuff.. Anyways ryu is beyond broken and nothing sekiro has displayed or even the ashura version of sekiro stands no chance .. Only thing Sekiro has on ryu is immortality
