Almost ten years after the end of this series, I still ask myself this same question. Why didn't they end up together? Why hasn't there been the Mac and Jo the audience has been waiting for? Christine was nice, but for me Jo was the woman Mac was really in love with. I think if the series would have continued it would have ended up being a happy ending for Mac and Jo.
