Hi Jerry. Thanks for the video. Have you thought about making your effects banks for the Line 6 HX effects available for purchase? I loved the truetone lounge video where you demoed your tremolo, eq, delay banks.

I just got one of these to use with my HX effects and my Kemper. I would love to talk to you a little bit about setting it up! I'm overwhelmed!

Great info Jerry. Are you using the newer V3 Selah pedal now or are the V1 and V2 good for what you are doing?. I've tried to find a V2 or V3 version but I can't find any for sale. You have such great ideas. I really enjoyed your true tone lounge interview I must have watched half a dozen times.

Hey Jerry, your video inspired me to pick up a Selah for my HX, but I've been having some trouble getting it to sync up. First time I plugged it in it recognized the tap tempo from the Selah right away and I could cycle through Snapshots right outta the gate. Pretty cool. When I started tweaking Presets and Snapshots settings I lost all connection. Not even tap tempo from the Selah. I double checked the CHAN OUT in Global Settings on Selah and it's set to channel 1. My MIDI Base Channel on the HX is set to 1 and I have my MIDI Rx clock set to MIDI, so the HX Effects should see that clock and tempo from the Selah. Have you had similar issues? I'm going 5 pin midi out on the Selah to 5 pin midi in on the HX. Cheers,

There are SO MANY settings that could’ve messed up sending tempo. And btw, I save my Selah and HX presets as I go, that way I can revert back a step or two when I’ve screwed something up. There is a function in the Quartz to stop sending midi tempo. I don’t remember if that’s a factory default. You can start over and recall factory settings maybe? That’s assuming you haven’t done a lot of programming to this point. But you can save what you’ve got, reset the Quartz, and see if the tempo function returns. Let me know your progress!

@@jerrymcp this reply is long overdue, my apologies. But I got the Selah and HX dialed in, and man, they're a match made in heaven. It turns out that the global tap on the HX always defaults to the HX and not to an external device (which makes total sense) so if you ever run the HX solo without the Selah, then you may have to go in and change the tap to external when reconnecting with the Quartz. If you have the two on a pedalboard together, same power supply, then this will never be a problem. But while I was getting them dialed in I didn't have them on a board yet, and thus separate power, and I ran into some issues. The verdict: the Quartz and HX are both pretty amazing and when paired together give you a ton of options. I see why so many Nashville cats have one on their board and Jerry's use of the two is really ingenious. And serious credit goes out to the folks at Selah. Super helpful and responsive even though the issue was primarily with the HX, and ultimate, me. Ordered a q:xpander last week and really taking a deep dive into the HX editor. Cheers!

Hi Jerry. Just check this video after watching your interview with TrueTone. Impressive amp/cabinet setup and a smart mic'ing rig? May I ask how do you use the Pitch Fork in session generally?
@jerrymcp6 жыл бұрын
One way I use it is for straight octave up arpeggio guitar parts (like Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead). I'll roll off the tone on my guitar to smooth out the octave effect. I also use a Nose expression knob to control the pitch sweep rate for octave up sweeps, and for dive bombs. Polyphonic pitch pedals are the way to go!

This is incredible! Thanks for posting it. I’m going to have to pick one (or more) of these up. Do you still use your G2, or has the Quartz replaced it?
@jerrymcp6 жыл бұрын
The G2 is on my main pedalboard. I’ll never get rid of it! The Quartz is controlling my smaller setup. I’m really glad you found this useful, thanks!

Hi Jerry, I watched your G2 MIDI video and now taking a look over here. I have several pedals and I'm looking to board everything up. I've considered the G2 but it commands a pretty penny, so I'm also considering the GigRig QMX10 along with their ABYBaby to set up a wet/dry rig. I have a few pedals that have MIDI capability and was looking at the Mission Engineering Expressionator which allows up to 3 pedals to be controlled with one expression pedal input. My questions would be: 1. Can the Selah Quartz be used in combination with an expression pedal? 2. Would the Selah Quartz be the best MIDI controller setup if I wasn't going after the G2?
@jerrymcp5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Quartz will map an expression pedal to control various midi functions. It goes WAY beyond anything the Expressionator will do. Kinda like saying, should I buy this toaster, or a kitchen that has a toaster and an oven and a blender and a refrigerator and a coffee maker and a microwave and ..........😁
@jerrymcp5 жыл бұрын
The Quartz is hands down the best!
@grega12075 жыл бұрын
@@jerrymcp, with a MIDI setup (say with the Quartz), would you even need to have an expression pedal? Instead just hook your MIDI pedals to the Quartz jacks and create all sorts of patches for what you want?
@grega12075 жыл бұрын
@@jerrymcp So basically a poor man's G2 from a MIDI standpoint?
@jerrymcp5 жыл бұрын
@@grega1207 Well it does A LOT more than the G2. The G2 is an amazing audio switcher with some midi switching. The Quartz focuses on everything midi AND tap tempo.

@@jerrymcp Thanks for answering. One last question if i may ; i do not see any buffer, but you still have a great, full sounding sound and without any switcher, how do you do it?
@jerrymcp6 жыл бұрын
Most of the pedals on my board are true bypass. After I wire up a board I do A/B listening tests to make sure my dry sound is intact. Some boards I have do need a buffer. This one works without one. Thanks for checking out the video!
