Underrated game which should have more recognition here in the United States. Such an excellent tool to teach people mathematics, strategy, and physics. Seeing this kind of excellence is so enjoyable. Thanks for posting.

One thing we should learn in the West is not to approach everything for its utility value. Games can be games for their own sake and nothing else.

@@gynandroidhead We often see "serious" fields as the sole goals worth pursuing and everything else as just tools to accomplish them, even our joyful activities, which don't really need any other reason. I think in every sport game the perfect score is something that involves a little bit of luck and huge skill however, in snooker its is 100% skill and 0% luck. Well at least this 147 break was clean and accurate to the level of aimbot in a computer game I am truly amazed by the level of precision and accuracy of Mr. Selby
@kevinzgarcia992 жыл бұрын
Well you are not going to make an 147 or a century with some extra luck that I can tell you, sometimes you really need the golden kisses to get perfectly right on the next one. But I get what you are saying, it's a lot more skills involved in snooker than luck compared to pool, 9 ball especilly.

I'm the last decade Ronnie O'Sullivan has won 4 worlds,3 Masters and 3 UKs so 10 Majors but Selby has proven to be his closest competitor because he's won 4 worlds and was one frame from the 2020 final where he would have been huge favourite but he still won a Master and 2 Uk titles.So Selby is the only player to get close to Ronnie O'Sullivan in Major wins over the decade but people sometimes forget.He is top 5 or 6 player in snooker history IMHO.

I've always wondered about snooker, in the modern era, they ref still verbally says the break score. When there are monitors displaying the score. Why do they do this still? I would love to try this sometime, but none in my area of the states sadly.
@rhys1474 жыл бұрын
The reason why they continue to verbally say the score is to keep them focused and not have there minds wonder off and when they are doing a match which the referee is both the scorer and referee, they keep score so that they don't forget to add points to the scoreboard
@cantaloupeme4 жыл бұрын
@@rhys147 as a player, that would seem distracting. But i guess they get used to it.
@rhys1474 жыл бұрын
@@cantaloupeme Well, the referee tends to say how many points they are on after the player has taken a shot so as not to distract them. The only time a referee may distract a player is if they move while the player is playin the shot or when they try to tell a member of the audience to keep still but that very rarely happens as the referee will normally put there hand up as a signal to the audience to be quiet
@AidanMillward3 жыл бұрын
When the score is called, the referee has told the player that, in his opinion (her in this case as it’s Desislava that’s the ref) the table is at rest and the player may proceed without fear of a foul being called because a ball is still moving or a ball has been improperly spotted. Also, in the clubs they don’t have access to video (for retakes of a shot after a miss is called) or electronic score keepers, so it keeps everyone on the same level. Unlike say in football where the Premier League has access to goal line technology while the local amateur football teams don’t.
