I find it very frustrating because I find that the selection is often not correct and I can't seem to figure out how to modify the selection. Your example is a very simple image with a clearly defined background, but with more complex images the tool often doesn't select the subject accurately. I am still using Photoshop to make my selections so perhaps I am just not informed how to get the tools to make a better selection in On1.

This new feature isn't out yet it will be free in 2024.5, due to be released later towards the end of June.

2024.5 is out today, but I agree that selection experience needs some learning curve and some things are just feel off. Like that Perfect Brush feature - I use it now all the time, switching on/off when needed - but as the masking toolbar is hidden (shown only on hover) there is no way to know if you have Perfect Brush enabled or not. You need to move mouse to the top, hover and check if that small icon is blue and then return to the area you're adjusting. Or that "show mask" button - gosh, it's such an important feature and it's practically hidden in a small raw of icons in the small popup that appears only if you click on a small mask icon in a adjustment. Or the "liked"/starred status of the file - only shown in the tab "info", so if you want to see levels and just make sure that image is liked (I often delete "non-liked" images in bulk), you have to click tabs. Speaking of levels - I wish there was a way to enlarge it and keep it all the time during editing. Instead of that absurdly huge left sidebar with cards of presets templates that is should be hidden 99.9999% of the time. I also can't grasp how browser's filter feature works. If I select Filter-Liked - it shows to rows with hearts buttons and it makes little sense. Sometimes filter is set but the actual browser window shows no photos or something else. I understand that there are millions of people with different preferences and workflows, and it's extremely hard to get a balance. ON1 has legacy decisions and bugs, but support is quick and responsive and I hope it's gonna be improving not only in the AI feature set, but also in the ergonomics of the most basic things. Today's 2024.5 fixed extremely annoying bug with missing previews, and improvement in RAW files opening are fantastic. Masking (especially AI in combination with perfect mask) is phenomenal too - makes previously formidable tasks a joy. Overall huge kudos to ON1 team, but please please don't stop working on the basic ergonomics and performance .

Can you make additional, fine tuning selection adjustments once the Super Select AI makes the initial selection?

Looks wonderful, only hope the improved SSAi tool is true to the Sneak Peak video's that we see, unlike previous Masking/Refine brushing that has been a tad misleading in practice...

Looks good, so far I have not been able to select say spider legs in my close up shots. I guess the the tonal difference between the little legs and their background may have an influence But it is god ON1 is looking to improove this aspect of the program Really looking forward to trying this release, like everyone else. Like they say patience grasshopper

I would like to see how it masks human hair when there is some complicated background behind the object. Masking human hair is where I struggle most when editing photos.

If there isn't a lot of contrast between the hair and background, thats really difficult to separate.

I can't get the super select to work with wondows 11. I just get a square of any size with a + sign. As usual, am I the only to have this problem?
