Nice. Trying this out now. One problem I'm having is the plug in steals the focus away from reaper and then when I hit the short cut again to close the FX it doesn't work and like beeps at me. I have to click back on the arrange or track to give focus back to reaper. Is this a setting in preferences or something? It's happening with both third party and stock plugins.

For anyone else having the same problem the answer is to open an FX chain window and look at the upper tool bar. Enable: Options > Ignore FX Chain keyboard shortcuts (send to main window).

oh boy at first it seemed useless but when its opening every FX on mouse over item its reaching perfection (next step is open with thougts lol)

Wow man actually this is crazy. I'm now assigning Q to automatically insert or show ReaEQ in full screen mode on mouse over any track. Also with T I am turning this track into touch mode to write automation to the eq instantly. So it goes.. mouse over anytrack at anyspace in the project window then HIT Q and T boom ready to automate EQ in 2 seconds!!! Thanks so much man I have never been able to go that fast in 10 years with Cubase

Does this work for you? It only opens the FX window for me but doesn't close it because the plugin steals the focus. I have to click back on main window to use the shortcut which defeats the purpose. I'm on OSX. Is there a setting somewhere?
