Brigand was my main when I played. Locked him at lvl 39 with 160 AA points with full pvp gear. Used to rock shit with that toon. Battlegrounds was my thing. Made so many mages rage quit. Wish Daybreak would brings back Battlegrounds and PVP gear. Brigs kick ass in pvp...so do illys and well played troubs; some hard classes to play well but get em down and you can own shit.

Yeah - it's unfortunate how the dev team has gotten so small and supporting TLE, Live, and PvP is just a lot for such a small team :(

Excellent video! I am not concerned about the best soloer in the game but which one is the most fun to play. Considering Rogue but not sure yet? Playing a Troll Heretic at the moment, started last week. But I am interested in a fun to play class. I don't care if he is the hardest to solo because after playing EQ1 for almost 10 years when the game came out. Playing any character on EQ2 so far sounds very easy by comparison. What is you're opinion on what is the most fun to play class on a traditional server for solo play? Great Video and thanks!

It's really subjective! But I do think that every class feels pretty powerful on live servers! I like dps that can heal themselves like necros, and I really like playing healers

Just came across your channel. Been looking for some modern videos discussing EQ2 classes. I am so torn between Brigand and Assassin for Varsoon launch. I’m a “career” Rogue on EQ1, so my natural inclination is to Assassin, but Brigand sounds super interesting as well. If I’m looking for big sneakyboi stuff, large backstabs, poisons poisons poisons, etc. am I pretty much looking at Sin? Probably a preemptive question; I need to go watch your Predators video.

If you want to do the big damage and really master a complicated class, assassin is for you! Rogues give amazing utility and also do good damage - maybe not the best - so that could be a good option as well.

For solo named hunting, would you say brig's come on top of scouts? Having a hard time to kill heroics x3 as a sin..

At face value, you will definitely be able to solo better on a brig vs. an assassin, because assassin needs to be stealth to really excel. That said, with vitality breach poisons and timing your stuns and CC accordingly, you can put in a lot of work as a brigand soloing. I don't know if you'll be able to solo like a necro, but in terms of a soloing class, you'll be much better than an assassin. Make sure when you use your stuns and such that you also flip behind the mob and get some positionals in since a lot of your damage relies on that.

remember when eq2 was fun ? dungeon crawls at lvl 20-50 were crazy fun ! pre aa tree eq2 was peak ! no bs murder hobo run for your spirit shard die until you break shit. now its a solo game (they had to make it a solo game cuz they ran ev1 away) server population now is all bots and staff. :)

Varsoon has a pretty healthy population and is only in DoF. Some live servers are also pretty populated, but yeah I do yearn for the good ole days.

If by healthy population you mean the bots that move to and fro from 1 vendor to another every now and then and if 5 yrs is the "good old days" lol then I half assed agree. Its a flailing game at its best.
