Of all of the ornamental fish species that we keep, I don't believe there to be any where more attention is payed to development than the Koi :) The koi is truly the king of the freshwater hobby !
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
That is surely true, a very interesting fish with an enormous amount of characteristics to pay attention on. Which is why we most probably like it so much!

Great video on this topic, couldn't agree more with all the points brought up apart from one where you mentioned that the back bone shouldn't be too much on the surface. Thought the more backbone visible the higher chances of the fish to carry big body shape? cheers
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thank you for your comment! Yes, that's indeed what I mentioned. I think I mentioned it should be proportional. Of course a strong backbone visible is good, but it shouldn't be over the top.

The usual high quality video. Surely some of this depends on the sex of the koi, males and females fin shape differs with males having larger fins and females usually having much larger bodies. A lot of very good information, very well presented. Keep safe and well
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Steven. Correct, female/male also has a difference for some characteristics during assessing these details. Stay safe and see you in the next video!

If the single gin rin scale on a wagoi is lost or removed....will the new scale that grows back be a normal scale?
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Normally the scale will grow back, as a 'Doitsu' scale. Nothing to worry about 👍

If you feed with all your might them for a whole season (especially in summer), you can get a good idea of what they are like. You can get a better idea of the maximum size of the KOI by looking at them like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqfJfqusgbiVmas For example, the left one is around 70cm and the right one can't be more than 65cm... If they are still skinny, it is difficult to know without information about OYAGOI or their brothers and sisters.
@Aboutkoi3 жыл бұрын
It will always be difficult to fully know their potential in their first year!
@atsuminaoki99103 жыл бұрын
@@Aboutkoi It is impossible to know completely. But little by little it becomes clear that there is no possibility. Then again, that's what professionals do, isn't it?
