Alot of events have been foretold like the one in Akita Japan over twenty years ago, more impressive are the ones that have been written in many books which we call the bible, we got the bible from thousands of years of Tradition which has had its share of prophecies quick have come to pass, most notable are the ones told of Jesus who would be crucified and rise again on the third day. Well this seems to reflect the modern world, but the question is, what’s the bigger threat, what the Patriots tried to do or what they tried to stop? That’s part of the game’s brilliance. A horrifying enemy that itself was trying to stop a horrifying problem. This conversation is enough to throw anyone into an existential crisis. Few forms of media, let alone video games, dive into such deep concepts.
@ArgentWolf952 жыл бұрын
It is as real as it gets. Although it isn't by the Patriots in real life. Global Corporations and governments have decided to implement a human version of the S3 plan. At least the control of information part. Social Media companies and western governments have decided they are the ones who get to 'create context.' Both are equally the greatest threat to our evolution.
@FronkZappa2 жыл бұрын
I think people who see Solidus as a tragic hero standing against the strength of the Patriots fail to see his motivation is no longer to free everyone from systems of control, but to impose his own onto the world. Just as Liquid represents the danger in becoming a slave to ones genes, such as circumstance of birth or ascribing strength to genes, Solidus could only focus on his memetic legacy. Only in becoming a new founding father and ensuring his image in the ever- increasing chaos of cultural consciousness could he feel a sense of purpose. I doubt it's a coincidence Raiden becomes the opposite of his paternal mentor. Solidus trained child soldiers hoping a part of him lived on through the tradition of war, and he treated Raiden like a surrogate son he could treat like a guinea pig, even if he did care for him on some level. Solidus cannot conceive children, so he became fixated on becoming a legend like big boss - the legend that resulted in the Patriots in the first place.
@ArgentWolf952 жыл бұрын
@@FronkZappa To be fair, Darth Vader is also classed as a tragic hero who fell into darkness because he wanted to save his wife and unborn child, but was manipulated and turned into the villain he becomes. My interpretation of Solidus is: He once did have motivations to free everyone or make America a better place, or fight the Patriots (it's not covered why he became President, or what for.) so it's up to interpretation. However his Dark past with training child soldiers is a shadow of Big Boss' dark side's legacy, so with training Raiden, he followed the same dark path of Big Boss. I do believe he was genuine in wanting to remove the Patriots and Bring Freedom to America, but he was too extreme, too fixated on becoming a legend of his own, that he lost sight of that and the consequences, which is kind of where the tragedy is. Solidus could have had a redemption if he was not so fixated and extreme, though training child soldiers is unforgiveable, but he could not be beyond redemption had he made better choices. I'd say I class Solidus as a tragic anti-villain- That is, a villain who wanted to do something good, but does evil things to achieve it. Or an anti-hero: Someone who uses very morally flawed ways to do a good deed. The tragedy was that he was created by Zero, and his life manipulated from that end. All three Snakes wanted to break free of their origins. But only Solid, the one who inherited the values of the Boss on his own without even meeting her (it's probably deliberate The Boss had some similar ideas to Solid). So in essence, Solidus had a good idea, but he still used destructive means and did even acts to achieve it. Still. The storytelling did have good messages to tell through Solidus. As I personally want to create my own legacy, but unlike him. I have chosen to do it through writing, and doing things to help my country and it's people (i'm british) in not so great times. I don't know if he does want to impose a new system of control though. He doesn't imply a goal to rule the new America.

A lot of people talking about how this is all coming to pass. The part they makes me the most sad is... even with as obviously intelligent and cynical as Kojima is, he still created an optimistic context. He wrote that the ultimate enemy is trying to do the right thing, as they see it. The AI believe theyre right and its hard to say theyre wrong. The problem is that its not a question of cold logic. Reality isnt like that. The world isnt becoming the way it is because some crazy AI is trying to improve the human race. Purely evil and selfish individuals are using society as a weapon against itself for their own prosperity. Even Kojima's insanity wasnt as cynical as reality.
@luckerooni1153 Жыл бұрын
We have not arrived at the tipping point where the AI clashes with the stupidity of political humanity. AI does not yet have the kind of self-determination to do something about it. Again... yet. Whereas as a child I thought it was a scary notion, in this day in age it could be incubating in the background of nations and we wouldn't know except that we've seen this video and we see how good AI is at "sifting through the trivial and trite wasteland" and "providing context." We're talking about a world where I just took the YT link of this video, ran it through a ChatGPT-4 plug in that can scrape videos and turn the dialogue into a script and analyzed it, asked it a couple obvious questions based on the video to "give it context for a response" and this popped out. This is just a publicly available AI that anyone can use for 20 bucks a month and many websites offer limited use of it for free and you can use dated versions of it for free. chat.openai.com/share/04df477c-e47b-4d16-b64c-9632fa2d028b It managed to get all of that from the video and "create all that context" just by me sharing it one link and asking what it thought. The amount of data it used, its logic and its sources to back it to respond was even more overwhelming in terms of how crazy it could be than the original video.

He knew because it was already happening before the internet even began. Kojima keeps up with the bleeding edge of social science research, and statements like those in this clip were pretty standard reading for people keeping up with Chomsky, Foucalt, Deleuze, or Guattari. It's also to be noted that the Colonel's ideology is the natural evolution of the CIA's original ideology with regards to information and sense of self. Many of the CIA's first agents believed individuals are mere vessels for multiple ideologies simultaneously, and that it was possible to get a person to disassociate in order to focus on a single thought pattern. The natural extension to this line of thinking is believing ideologies can have spirits which have agency, and thus the Colonel's introduction of "consciousness forged in the crucible of the whitehouse".

For those who say that Kojima or MGS2 predicted decades ago what is happening today, it's not surprising. It's widely known that Kojima is a fan of movies, music and books. It's very likely that all the storytelling that MGS2 has, has been based on some book, movie or expert statements about how the internet would impact the world, comments that date back to the 80s and 90s. Even David Bowie predicted the impact that I was going to have internet in 1999 and how the music industry was going to behave with its use, being one of the pioneers in publishing part of its catalog in the cloud if I'm not mistaken. And as you know, Kojima is a fan of David Bowie. The same has happened with Death Stranding, in how Kojima raised the problem of isolation due to external threats, urging the player to take more awareness and action on political issues or those that have to do with a community of people, among other issues are already happening in the world. They can criticize Kojima all they want, but he is one of the few content creators who investigates a topic of relevance that many miss and risks creating games that bring that part of reality to you so that you can reflect.

It's very likely a lot of that media content that he shows on his social networks is related to one of his upcoming titles and it has served as inspiration for him.
@lawrenceinsley41142 жыл бұрын
There is something much more happening here than just inspiration. If you’ve played MGS1, Ocelot makes the statement that he wishes to see Russia reunified and leading the new world order, which is happening as we speak. In a codec call about Foxdie, it’s mentioned that the virus is capable of attacking specific forms of DNA. Well, scientists have created a virus that does just that. Lastly, that codec call states that the virus attacks macrophages and this is the effect that Covid-19 has on them.Macrophages are typically helpful, repairing wounds and consuming harmful, alien pathogens. However, severe COVID-19 infection is now believed to be linked to a hyper-immune response, as macrophages attack the virus as well as the body.

Linaru, I misspelled your name by error begsn correcting but decided it is bedt nit correct my mistake. Realizing the keypad on a phone is structured purposely to automatically program into categorizing your intellect. I use it & will continue to in order to highlight how a human being is just that. Titles are entrapments to one soul. Ever hesrd the phase 'Selling dreams'? The person you seek is the mirror. Removing the program of consumption ny understanding that you told just that, be nice to others but beat out the competition, (good guys, bad guys) a hero, take up the gun, or weapon for protection. Where faith is what is trully absent. When you truly understand a soul is the most value & under the right teacher you'll see that it is untouchable you be invincible even through death. Take care & may peace be with you

But then again SciFi novels hit on the same subjects. And sometimes that's where they take their influence from.

What's great here is that the AI wasn't wrong about the problems of society, the spread of misinformation is a massive problem. Its solution is what's wrong. That tyranny of algorithms and hypercapitalist technocracy that the Patriots embody is also terrifying. How can people self-govern in an age of global misinformation? Solidus was right for wanting to overthrow the Patriots but whose to say he wouldn't have set himself up as one? I don't think Solidus is that great either, but the game has always said to me that both Solidus and the Patriots both suck because they perpetuate conflict rather than cooperation and seeking an end to endless wars.

This really made me break my head but here some of what i think, the world needs individual beliefs to progress not economicly or politically but socially, world should be base on society and making it better, and the "theres even a yourself or is what everybody makes you believe" can be easily sorted as "there's no belief only 1 person have" ways of seeing things are spreaded and people accept it or deny it, there's no a perfect person, no Ubermensch who knows what better, we have to sort it out as a society, and yes im saying the people should have the power to decide what's better for themselves, im not talking about the rich who doesn't know the world, im talking about the actual people that lives normal lives and gives value to people

No because Google is left. The AI is considering a system that transcends political values. Only truth, filtered by the AI. No feeling attached. Google is the opposite. Google is censorship. And like GW says “We aren’t trying to censor content, but rather create context” The issue come to be who writes the AI. Who decides what information is processed by the AI to be trivial and partizan. This is a chilling reality we may have to adopt if we continue to ditch our own critical thinking. We should be adopting more unpopular ideas, because they are our own, and not a search for validation. This is a warning to what the final answer to our problems will be if we continue letting group think dictate our self. We lack the qualifications to exercise free will. We dont deserve to be free.
