Selections from “The Sound of Music” On A Restored 1912 Bjur Bros. Player Piano

This large 56” upright Bjur Bros. player piano was built in 1912, and the player mechanism restoration was just completed at Historic Pianos in 2023. This 111-year-old piano is mostly original, with original strings and finish, etc, but with new hammers to replace the worn-out originals. This 1981 Play-Rite roll #502-B is a medley of Rodgers and Hammerstein songs from “The Sound of Music,” played by Erickson, Noble and Koury.

This arrangement was definitely inspired by Dick Watson's QRS roll, for a Playrite roll it actually sounds half decent!
