I always find it funny when livers completely change their tone of voice and mannerisms when they switch to a different language. It’s like listening to a completely different person.
@blazingkite89832 жыл бұрын
everyone (and I mean every single human in the world) kind of does that for 2 reasons 1: Language intonations and accents first of all are gonna be different from one another and is the reason why having anime call someone "onii-chan" sounds cutesy yet in dubs saying "big brother" does not provide the same energy (also by the letters the word is composed by.) 2: you're mostly bound to sound different in other languages than your native one based on how you learn it through If your native language is spanish and you learn it in a household in which there was no mannerism your spanish is gonna grow the same way but if you start learning english from polite ppl, your english also will grow politely so you end up speaking with a crude spanish yet a polite english

Every human in the world does that. Its kinda hard speaking Cantonese in the same accent and way I speak English. It just sounds broken.
@theglobalwarming60812 жыл бұрын
Its actually a well documented phenomenon. And its not just the tone of the voice either, their personality also changes a bit. So, when you meet someone who's multilinggual, you're literally locked out from fully knowing them since they have another face you cant access xD
@firesturmgaming2 жыл бұрын
Cos you can't exactly describe yourself the same way in different languages cos some words don't have equivalents in another language and some words aren't words in another language. They're more descriptions rather than words.

I don't get it why speaking different languages can make your voice tone so different. Like, if I speak in english, I would be like in a high tone voice and it's hard for me to speak if I lower it down even just a tad bit. But if I'm speaking in my mother tongue, my voice is deeper than when I'm speaking in English. Like, everyone thinks that I'm being sarcastic all the fucking time because of that as well.
@amoosed992 жыл бұрын
I think it's probably just to do with how comfortable u are speaking it. Most people will speak with a higher pitch in a second language bc without realising it, they will be more conscious of how they're being perceived in case they make a mistake or are misunderstood. I think speaking in a higher pitch for ur second language is probably due to that, and it explains why it's so common

Cultural thing. In spoken cantonese, you attach an "ah?" at the end of a phrase/sentence to denote it as a question. So Selen was asking "Are you M, ah?" If you don't attach that sound at the end, it kinda feels like you haven't completed the sentence and is just left hanging.
