She mentioned several times that she deliberately published these two songs first because she wanted to close a chapter. As we all know, both songs are about the ending of her relationship with Justin. She then said (with Ryan Seacrest) that the rest of the songs on the album will have nothing to do with this topic but only with herself and where she is now in life. My theory: I think she knew very well that the media were just waiting to pick out some Justin drama in her album. They would just talk about that and nothing else. So the other songs would be ignored completely. That's why she first released the "Justin songs" so that she and the media could get with this topic over with and when her whole album will come out, people could focus on the other songs and pay attention to them. I think that was one of her best decisions and I wish her with all my heart that she gets the recognition she deserves and is finally no longer called Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend.
