Music has no color, race, gender or culture. It is one of the elements that binds us all as human beings. If it touches you or your soul, moves you, or creates a memory, that's all that matters. This song certainly exemplifies that reality!

This song has a very special meaning for me. I'm a "tech guy" for a touring band so I have professional sound equipment that I use. A girl that lives just up the road from me came down one day when I had my equipment set up in the yard for a cookout. She loves to sing karaoke but the only thing she had used up until then was a portable karaoke machine. We had played games together on my computer for quite a while, so she knew how to use it. I pointed to my computer, handed her a microphone and said "look up a song and sing". She loved using the professional equipment for a change! A few weeks later I learned that her oldest sister was going to have a birthday party so I volunteered to bring my equipment and provide music for it. My "gaming buddy" friend had a ball as her and two cousins put on a really good show for her sister's party. They asked could they do it again the next day so I just left my equipment there and came back to do it again the next day. During the party I had showed my friend how to operate a sixteen channel sound mixer so the next day she was sitting at the mixer console having a ball playing songs and singing to them. Then she played this song! I had always loved this song, but that day it took on a special meaning for me... I picked up a spare microphone to join in. She saw what I was doing so she reached out and slid the volume slider up on the microphone I had. It was about halfway through the first verse when I started. But when we got to the chorus I noticed her looking directly into my eyes! When the second verse started we broke eye contact but continued the beautiful duet. Then our eyes locked again as we started the second chorus. Even though I had known this girl and her family for years, up until then she was just a friend who liked to get together and play computer games. When I saw the smile on her face and the look of love in her eyes while singing this song I realized she was singing those words "I could fall in love with you" to me! She is quite a few years younger than me and up until then we were good friends but nothing more, but I asked myself "could I fall in love with her?" As we sang the third chorus I gazed into her beautiful brown eyes and realized that yes, I could fall in love with this beautiful girl, and that in reality I already had, but it took this song to make me realize it!

@@v06261 Alas no. Our age difference (40+ years) is too great (I'm over 65) but despite our age difference we enjoyed each other's company, and sang many other duets with her and her sisters. While I was still with the band I even got her and her family into several performances we did locally and she had a ball. She now has a boyfriend that seems to care for her and I wish her well. I have since moved away and rarely get to visit her or her family but I will always love her from afar as a bright spot in my life at a time when I had almost given up and I really needed someone to show me that life was worth living. I knew then that due to our age difference she would never be able to be my girlfriend or lover, but at least for a while we shared a bond that goes beyond age or anything else, and kept me alive when I had given up on life.

She died exactly a year before I born. My birthday is March 26, 1996. I didn't even know who Selena was until I saw her biopic with J-lo about a year ago. I'm not a huge fan of her music but I really like this song. For some reason I feel at such a loss for and I wish that Selena was still alive today, died too young with lots of potential to do more incredible things. Murdered in cold-blood it's just sad... 😟

I was also born March 26, but in 1993. And and to me everytime my birthday comes along, I start going through my Selena phase and listen to her music and watch the movie and just remember her for a few weeks.

+Harmonizer How is that really funny that she died if you think that shit is funny you must not have a soul in my opinion...

Ricqwan Davis they were correcting the date. I dont think they were laughing because she died. They laugh because Pennsylvania Railroad got her seat date wrong.

Pennsylvania Railroad I remember being so in love with her as a kid. she had passed away so when I found out a out her death it really shocked me. I can say she is one of the celebrities that I truly mourn her loss. I cried so much when I found out. I remember being like 5 or 6 and buying her cassette from this guy that use to sell stuff like that I'm my apartments. me and my sister really wore down that tape.

It is so difficult to listen to Selena, or see and hear her fans today, or visit her memorial site without feeling like crying and feeling so much for her, her family... and everyone she still impacts even today. I never knew her, never saw her perform, but I carry such a strong feeling for her anytime I see her name her face or hear her voice anywhere. RIP

I am a Toronto girl. I am nowhere near texmex but this is one of the most beautiful love songs ever. I loved the 1990s but by 2000 I was only 6. I wish I could have been an adult in the 1990s. I love her

She was truly a legend. Without her there would be no Jennifer Lopez or Shakira. She's the female Michael Jackson. If anyone disagrees then you don't know good music

Born in 99 but when I’d hear her sing when I was very young, I thought that I was listening to an angel sing. Most of her songs if not all have put me to sleep as a child. Sad to hear from my parents of what happened. I’m sure she’s still singing in heaven:)
