My problem with Christian is that she smiles too much to a point where it seems fake to me. Selena was always smiling but when it was time to sing some songs, she would make a serious-passionate face, especially in Amor Prohibido. I know pplaying Selena is extremely hard but she could at least study her expressions and movements more, not just try to "copy them" from a storyboard. Anyway, they did a good-decent job after all and can't wait for season 2.

Being a Selena fan and having watched the original music video so much…… I don’t know why but this video feels like parody to the original. The lipsync and dancing is so off that, it’s almost cringe worthy. She tried her best to imitate an amazing singer but this wasn’t it at all. They missed the opportunity to recreate some of the most iconic Selena parts of this video. I thought Jlo did an amazing job playing Selena. She studied her and did an amazing job. I noticed the same things. I don't want to hate at all. But I have repeated certain parts on some songs from the series and it seems like she might not know all the lyrics. I know the editing could have done better to fix it. I feel on some parts her mouth is not saying the words that are being said. I know the lyrics to SELENA's songs and I see her mouth not always saying the words being sung. I think that's kind of a big let down. I think that should be one of the most important things to learn was the lyrics for the songs to portray a powerful singer like Selena. Or any singer for that matter. The lyrics should be memorized and the editing should have done more to not make it noticeable. They shouldn't have let that go. It seems like more effort could of been put into getting that right. Especially if they know SELENA Super fans are going to be watching. They should of made the person portraying the singer to know the lyrics. And of course if she does know the lyrics and it was a scene cut... then editing should have been just a bit more detailed on cutting those little parts out for a clean performance portrayal. Other than that... I think she looks great and her acting in the Series is great as well. No hate over here. Just noticed the same things on season 1 and noticing the same thing in this video. Will still support the Ultimate SUPER STAR SELENA. 🌹

People talk about which version is better, and I totally understand because people have their opinions. However, the movie the Jennifer Lopez starred in and this series with Christian Serratos are really all about paying tribute to Selena and introducing Selena, her music, and her legacy to a whole new generation. People may watch the movie or the series and want to learn more about her. There was even that viral video of a toddler singing Selena in the car and that made my heart so happy. 😊 She's still inspiring people even today. Selena really annunciated her words when she was singing and when you see her singing you can tell because she fully opens her mouth...which makes it believable... I wanted to enjoy this video but it just made me cringe... it seems like Christian was just trying to make it through by keeping a smile on her face the whole time in this video. If you watch the real Selena music video u can see her facial expressions were more serious because she was singing with passion. This Netflix version looked like a happy go lucky attitude version which did not reflect the true meaning of the song which is a forbidden love.

I love this series, but editing is a little off key, and that makes it look like Christian isn't in-sync with the lyrics, which isn't fair to her because she's not at fault but is made fun of for it. The same happened with the Como La Flor performance. Whoever edits these needs to do better.

She didnt have enough charisma or passion to play selena she should have turned the role down and the family had a big part in this but whoever greenlighted christian as selena for the series was hating on selena, downplaying her character and image for the new generation if they dont look into selena them selves and christian is all they know I feel bad for them b.c selena was a power house and christian as selena was like a parody. It's not about looking like her she failed at trying to portray selena... I pray to God someone makes a better series in English b.c I don't even know Spanish but I know Maria's selena showed way more character of selena then christian by a long shot and jlo nailed it but the movie didn't have as many details and couldn't fit in alot. I was looking forward to this series until I saw how much of joke they think selena was. And I watched it and cried they should be ashamed of they selves Netflix, the family, christian, the guy that played pete they knew better. Anything for a check. Where did the realness go? (In my selena voice) lol
