In this video, we analyze the defense against the push and shove in a street fight. The first thing that you should do if you were faced against a potential attacker is to bring your hands up.
You also need to position yourself correctly to be ready to defend and fight back if need be. By placing your hands in a passive stance, you create some sort of shield between you and your opponent.
You should also try as much as possible to not let your attacker get too close of you. It's good to have a safe distance, to avoid getting hit by your opponent. It seems basic, but it's a crucial element of self defense.
If you do get caught off guard and you get pushed or shove by an angry man, you need to bring your hands up as quickly as you can. It's best to use a passive stance, making it seem like you "don't want to fight".
If the attacker makes a committed shove with lots of energy, you can open up his hands and come in with a solid head butt. If you read his intentions quickly, you can throw in a solid palm strike to your attacker's face to prevent him from coming at you.
Another key self defense principle against the push and shove is to avoid walking backwards in a straight line. Instead, you should move in a circular angle to make it harder for your opponent to hit you.
Moving from side to side, will disrupt the commitment of your attacker and make it much more difficult to get the momentum going for the push and shove.
We hope that you enjoyed these self defense tips.

It's true that a fight can get rowdy. If it's someone more aggressive, you might want to look into this type of defense - Pre-emtive striking: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6HQZpWvfc2Eq6M Stay safe.

Great advice! So many street fights start this way. A guy pushing another guy to set up a big punch or a take down.

The funny thing is that literally everyone pushes to start a fight most the time so this will come in handy to end a fight before it even begins

I’ll get some flak for this, but when someone pushes or shoves you, the fight has already started. Forget all those “self defense” techniques! Recover into your fighting stance and come out blasting with your most tried and true strikes. A well delivered punch or kick can end a fight instantly or change the balance in your favor!

Very Smart Addition of getting off the "X". Most lessons on this stuff are too static and don't take follow up into account. If you move on a line it doesn't take any additional mental effort or time to track you and strike you. Especially since you might be backing up directly into the attackers power range(reach). Great Job Nick. I'm going to post a video of another good option we teach in my classes.

Great info. I really like that tip about moving off to the side to reduce the attackers momentum. You really do have the BEST info for real world situations. I like that you keep it simple and use gross motor skills and nothing too fancy. God bless and keep up the great work.

Then theres me that would just take the push, the slap, AND the ass whoopin and will continue to stand on whatever shit i was talking. I geuss alot of people get a little shocked about that cuz i would just stand there with my arms open like im ready for a hug, then look them in the eyes and say "ok then.. beat my ass. I wont fight back.. but i wont stop talking shit either" I stand on what i say.. ass whoopin or not.. an i know actively encouraging someone to diliberatley whoop yer ass is not something to be proud of... Belive me.. im not. But i have this twisted way of how i handle my anger. instead of even trying to take it out on them, i release some of my anger by letting them hit me.. so in the end.. we both get what we want.. to release some anger. Its stupid to everyone else, but in my sick, twisted mind it makes sense.. i dont like to hurt anyone... Wow this was long.. youre welcome for the half a minute of your life y wasted on my nonsense. 😊😊 stay positive ppl

It's 24th May, 2023 . It's Wednesday. Two hours ago , the one who promised to marry me, had rejected me because I'm allergic to gluten although he knows about my allergy from the very first hour we met with each other. All i want right now is to be able to express my pain. Maybe writing alleviates the pain. He did EVIL to me😢

The shove; one Christmas dinner with FRIENDS we were all discussing my audacity for calling animal control to save a horse's life from a real 'horse's ass';...guess I broke some code of the neighborhood...I went to go DO STUFF in the kitchen and one of our friends came up behind me, I turned to face a very angry face coming up to me and he POKED me in the sternum with a finger, hard. I had an insane moment that worked and barked out laughing. Everything froze. Wiping my eyes and walking RR LL a little bit (right arm, right leg steps etc, done to look natural) by then the other guests peeked into the kitchen to watch me walk RR LL RR and my FRIEND who poked me hard was backing up quickly and fell over this piano bench I think that was being used as a table to hold lots of food near the dining table...anyway. Mess and mayhem. No one knew what had happened and left it that way. Just one poke. Yeah, we were not invited back to another dinner either and the animal cops came and rescued that starving horse. That little aggressive walk is amazingly powerful. Who says we humans don't have buried instincts somewhere?
