This is not stupid at all. What did you expect, that he'd teach the general public Krav Maga in 5 minutes? This demonstration is not meant for MMA fighers, but for women who have no clue about self defense. Having a torch around in the work-place is not a bad idea if they know they could potentially use it as last resort (when running away is not an option), the chocking-avoidance move can still give them few more seconds of time, in those situations, a few seconds could mean the difference between having the time to scream and not having that opportunity.

Those women should buy a gun, learn how to use it well and carry it at ALL TIMES!!! .. anything else is just going to get them killed and is so freaking stooopid. This was literally pointless, no one in that audience nor the host took anything serious, it was 'fun' and entertaining to them. None of them have the mindset to utilize ANY of that under the effects of adrenaline or when their life is on the line, nor will they remember it. None of them will think of anything other than to scream and beg for their life when there is a gun to their face, then say "Ban all the guns!" after its over. Lol.

I teach a neck choke removal that is not a defensive move, but offensive. Pin the attacker's wrists to your upper chest, turn sideways 90 degrees. As you're turning, move your arm closest to the attacker as if you're throwing a baseball. When your arm has made a full sweep and you've broken the attacker's grip by the time you slap your own leg with the sweeping hand, and the attacker's face has been pulled in to within 3 to 6 inches from yours, then use your sweeping arm that you used to break the choke hold (while still pinning his wrists to your upper chest with your opposite arm) to break his face with your elbow. We call it an "empi smash." Practice it both ways, so you get proficient using either side, then practice other tactical techniques such as bouncing his head off a brick wall or the ground to knock him out and eliminate the threat. It's best to disable your attacker than to become a victim. Always carry a force multiplier such as a tactical bezel flashlight, knife, and OC Spray. Take classes to learn how to use them. Learn to protect your life. Practice situational awareness, to keep out of most oncoming confrontations. Best wishes... Stay safe.

A gun is an awesome self defense tool as well. You don't even have to take a chance with hand to hand combat.

In my self defense class a couple of students and I go to bars to pick fights with people there. It's great because we know self defense and they don't so it is relatively easy for us to win. The problem is that sometimes some of us get injured. We figured that if we had our master come with us that we could at least diminish this risk. How do people here think we should propose this to him?

just a reminder to every criminals out there to use a duct tape and not ropes so that your victims have a chance to escape. to potential victims: if the robbers don't have a duct tape, ask them to tie you with a duct tape that you keep in your utility drawer. rules has been laid and any criminals found abusing the rules will be prosecuted and fined.

This guy has never, ever been in a real situation....only through training. I guarantee it. Knife altercations are damn near impossible to get out of safely. The old saying is "you have to give something up to the knife"...you will get cut, hurt, or dead. And real people aren't coconuts. They don't just sit there while getting hit. They hit back and are the attackers. Self defense is a very high stress situation where you kind of panic internally and have no time to think of how you're going to react.

That is actually gonna work because the rotation of the torse would concentrate all the force on top ring on duct tape. Once is it broke, it is easier to brake the rest.

Can I use this one she ask. The "well you can use this one two, but we can both use the one" sounded unnatural like a force. Question would be, "do you have that one flashlight rigged to produce the result you want"?

I could probably rip someone's throat if they tried to get away from a choke like that. Bad technique, it also gives the choker alot more opportunities to strike.

It was a demonstration, in a real scenario it would be done in less than a second, they teach it in martial arts too. Usually another move comes after it or with it, when you do the spin you can do an elbow variation, the momentum would knock the guy out

Think about it, the criminal would not be 100% thinking right, he wouldnt even want to rip their neck since murders are always solved, but they could knock a girl out rape her and she would forget

Pls try defending yourself from a knife attack like that.... just like how they tell women to just kick guys in the balls to defend themselves, as if some 6'2 220 pound dude is just going to stand there with his legs spread wide open ready for you to kick.... no knife attack is goling to start anyhting like how you portray it, and no knife wielding attacker will ever likely get that close to you in that dumb, basic position and try to use the knife like a spear lol.

if youre trying to tell me that a 6'2 220 pound dude with a knife could be taken out by a woman whos at the most 5'5 and 140, maybe 150, youre delusional Dx anyone whos that big and wants to cause your real harm if you dont comply will mess you up... theres a reason they have weight classes in all fighting sports...
