Good video. Though there is another way to think about self-destruction. As pointed to in the video self-improvement can be slow and it can be done with questionable end results. In some ways, it is the easy way. One step every day, but why not 10, why not 100? I think many of us are afraid to be uncomfortable. To remove the little pleasure that watching KZbin/tiktok or playing games or whatever we do to waste time, sometimes most of our time. We are afraid of work and how it allegedly steals away our lives, so mostly escape it by any means possible. Self-destruction can be cutting out of that pleasure, and accept nothing, but "pain" (hard work) for a period of like a month or even longer. Study, job/part-time, focus on an ignored creative hobby to the max, whatever combination of these. No pleasure, just the full force of hardwork, no matter what. Instead of trying little by little, maybe it could be better (at least for some, though I would argue for most) to force ourselves to do only hardwork until we realize, it is maybe not that bad. Many/most will just get used to it, like humans get to everything, and perhaps even find pleasure in parts of it, that we never expected to find. To give a different example, it reminds me of when I was hitchhiking for a month once. Every day I had a end goal and a goal for the end of the month. I would wake up and start planning where to wait for cars, what route should I take. Then I talk with the people, end up at a place, maybe do some basic "sightseeing"/people watching, go to bed and repeat. After a while it just became my life. It is not like it was a mater of survival, but it almost felt like that. My mind was wrapped around thinking of just how to continue, waiting places, routes, food. After a few days, by the evening I would be tired enough I would just fall asleep almost instantly, no time to waste on my phone. It is perhaps yet another lesson from that experience, that took my time to understand. The value of putting it all into something and how it might be tough in some ways at first, but after a while I learn to live with it and enjoy the good of it.

My personal hell is getting back on living all my days in abusive relationships. This made me realize how much I let others dictate how I should live, what should I do...How much of my own toughts and fears come from the voices and actions of abusers. Having to live close to one of them made me realize how much I don't want to go back to that. It is quite jaded to think you can't be gentle and charitable because of how much people abused you. That all your life people told you you should love the people that hurt you. that you had to take care of them, feed them, Protect them, Fix them, Be their shield. That all your life they told you ¨This is your life purpose¨. but if being jaded and cold is a step to getting out of it, so be it. I am just tired of living for ungrateful people. Maybe one day I will be healed enough pass it...

I would actually prefer a blank screen while you talking, could you try that out? All these cartoons in the background are distracting us from 'boredom' :P

Some like the backgrounds, and you don't. An easy way to solve it is to close your eyes.

This video made me realize how common my problems are. There are hundreds of people out there who are most likely going through the same thing as us.

Matthew 10:39 in Other Translations 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 39 If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. 39 If your first concern is to look after yourself, you'll never find yourself.
