A lot of these tool bag videos seem like an episode of keeping up with the kardashians with the shiny high end names that look like they aren’t used, now THIS video looks like the tools myself and 98% of all the other tradesman on the jobs actually have lol Great video

I do remodeling always looking for time saving and organizational tips. I found the Rigid rolling tool box system very good. Also those husky tool bags are great for a set-up .plumbing, electrical, carpentry. I have separate set-up tool bag for each trade... saves time and the tools are in that set-up. My cordless tools are in the Rigid rolling tool box.. Great video

That’s why I watched this video, I have tools for several trades and they are all unorganized because I’ve mainly just used them for personal remodeling projects, but now I’m planning to work for the public and I can’t spend an hour looking for a specific tool. I need to become more organized. This video gave me some good tips. I have a 20 ft trailer with shelving on one side and at the front. Think I’ll make this my primary storage location and compartmentalize my tools by trade or function so I can take what I need to a job without hauling that big trailer everywhere.

I teach you what learned any screw can be cut to letgh needed with wire cutters, bolt cutters. Or just grinder. We line up panels and covers with ice pick help line up screw holes.
@luisangelmedia4459
@luisangelmedia4459 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice. That’s good tip to cut the screws if you have long ones and need smaller ones. We are lucky because the customer or client pays for the materials and I always calculate my overhead (how much I spend from my own money on materials like screws) so I just buy the size we need so we don’t have to go back and cut them back, saves a little bit of time. And I’ll try that idea about using the ice pick to line up the screw holes.

Thank you for watching the video. As for the bags, I don’t usually take them down from the car as I usually get what I need from them and take the tools in hand to where I’m working. But when I do need to grab the whole bag, I alway like the smaller Husky bags as they are easier to handle. Also, the big open husky bag has a removable handle that has a nut that holds it in place. This nut is alway unthreading itself, so I would avoid it if you’re needing something to move around. I also like the black Husky bag with the multiple deciders as it keeps my tools organized compared to the open style ones.

How much do you spend on Tools yearly
@luisangelmedia4459
@luisangelmedia4459 3 жыл бұрын
I really don’t have a budget for tools. But each year varies depending if I made big purchases. For example, last year I purchased a very large 60lb air compressor for about $900 and a month ago I bought a cooler for when I’m working in the patio for $1,200. I buy the tools as I need them for the job. I also bought a new staple gun in January when I did another patio because I was given a very large box of staples for free, but had no stapler that size to use them with. But I have built up my tools slowly over the last 10 years.

Yes, it definitely is! We’re only a two man crew, me and my dad, but we need to have these ready for whatever happens on the job. Sometimes we wished we could fit more.

@@mAtThR3w If it's a Milwaukee then "sawzall" would be correct because it's their brand name for a recip saw, but a lot of people use sawzall for other brands much like most people say Bayer for any brand aspirin.....

@@louismac1 Yes that is a good point. I try to keep my truck locked at all times and the important tools in the cab. Thankfully I have not had troubles with theft, my truck is always in sight too. When we buy materials, 1 person stays in the truck while the other goes in to get the materials, me or my dad.
