Everyone who is or has been in a mature, stable long term relationship knows that there comes the point were you will be invited everywhere as a couple because your friends/your partners friends have their partners with them as well, so your friendship groups mix anyways. I think in a new relationship you’d be correct, but my fiancé and I have been together almost 7 years now, and there’s seldom a time where only one of us are invited somewhere. We just have mutual friends. Hanging out with the boys has turned into a big mixer where there’s 5-6 couples all rolling up somewhere. The guys typically are chilling in one space doing their own thing, and the girls are somewhere else doing whatever they’re doing 🤷🏼‍♂️

I feel like In healthy relationships, it’s not about asking it’s about informing too, because u might never know what might be the last time u may see that person. I’ve heard so many trafficking and crime stories that happened, and the partner might’ve had an extra hand if they knew where was the last time their significant other was. I don’t mind telling my husband where Im going or if I know imma hang out with friends at a party I send him my atty in case Im too drunk w the girls. The beauty of both of us being introverts is neither of us give a damn about parties and clubbing, the only people we hang out with is each other. When she needs "me time" to recharge, she sleeps, sees her best friend, or her brothers and when I need to recharge, I grab my ruck and camping gear and head into the mountains for a day or two. A day or two apart is huge, as it gives us both time to miss each other, and never take for granted the time we spend together.

I think it's worth pointing out that the permission thing depends on how dependent you are on each other. For example, if you have kids, you're not asking permission to go out, you're asking permission to leave all the responsibilities to the other person for an evening. It should never be about asking for permission to enjoy time alone. It should really only ever be asking permission to leave your shared responsibilities with the other person.

there is science behind it: There was a study done in similar couples, if the girl had no other lovers before husband, there was 85% chance to still be married after 10 years, 70% chance if she had 1 lover before husband, 55% chance if she had 2 lovers, down to 15% chance to still be married at 10 years with 6+ lovers, this was the 90's. I’ve heard many guys/girls wanting a virgin woman/man w a crazy sex drive and if that’s the case it’s impossible. S/he wouldn’t know the experience bc s/he hasn’t been through it. It is equally difficult w a woman/man who has been with many partners and has high expectations. The point simply lies in the way people view sex. Is sex an important part of a relationship? Well everything shows that yes, it is. So now, if you take something that's important and intimate and means alot and you give it some thought, you come to a conclusion that you don't really want to give everyone something so special because then it loses it's speciality. Now if you have a partner that has a big body count (like 20+ just for the sake of argument), how can you feel special for sharing that with them? Now that thing which is one of special things in a relationship is no longer special and it's just left empty. I am not insecure, but I don't wanna be with someone that I don't feel special with.

It's not insecurity it's that if you are really looking for a wife, which is supposed to be the reason men date, you don't want to be married to her and all the dicks that have been in her.
