About my videos: These videos are a resource for anyone wishing to wake up from the dream of separation. Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.
Disclaimer: The information presented in these videos is not meant to diagnose or treat any psychiatric or medical illness. The inquiries presented herein are potent and can have powerful effects on the way you experience yourself and reality. If you feel you are at risk of harming yourself or others, these videos and practices may not be the best thing for you at the moment. Seek help wherever necessary which might include a hospital emergency department, a suicide helpline etc.

Man the universe really dished up some gold by serving me this podcast. Perhaps one of the bigger struggles is the social component. Like you describe, it can feel excruciating going from expansiveness to intense contraction around other people. Social anxiety has definitely been one of the more challenging things awakening has brought me into intense intimacy with. There's an absolute bucketload of defence mechanisms that my mind created to not feel that discomfort that actually rewarded me in the past, putting me in positions of leadership ect. But could always never deny the shaky foundation that crept more and more through the cracks. So Violet's piece was really potent for me too - how she mastered the confident persona and learned to drop that away. What I'm noticing is becoming extremely rewarding is to ACCEPT what's there and inquire in a way that you point to here and allow myself to receive the slings and arrows of judgement my identity has become so wrapped in trying to prevent from a fear of rejection. But some really important takeaways here, to give myself permission to really FEEL and inquire into what those subtle deep patterns are trying to voice that frequently runs away from. Only difficult thing though is getting so wrapped in those stories when they arise that there's literally 0 space to even inquire, let alone drop into the emotions. Takes time, I suppose. Just so much gratitude for this. Rant over.

Thanks for your comments. Just one comment and that is that while it is sometimes difficult to have enough of a gap to inquire / drop into emotion authentically in a triggering moment, we often have the time or opportunity to do it after the fact, such as during a moment of meditation. This is especially true if the vasana/fixation point is deeply rooted or has a repetitive nature. Sometimes in the moment all one can do is "lean in" to the sensory aspects of the flow of experience :)

I can relate to what you describe in so many ways!! One thing I’ve been so flipped about is the social anxiety! It seemed to come out of left field… but it’s clear the underlying fear that “I don’t belong here” was there all along. Unworthiness? Or victimization?? Lol either neither way

Rewatching this, i have a deeper understanding of the label Autistic. While I still don't want to be a human, I am grateful to the one who invented tissues. ;o ) A work in process thanks you.

This insight into social anxiety was so helpful. I feel like we need to help more people understand it’s not something wrong with them. I’ve always felt anxiety in general was something wrong with me and am only learning as an adult it’s normal and now I guess even the natural way. So again I realize that my dogs have it right. Happiness means being present and not in thought. And being around your own species is naturally filled with energy.

My advice is for you to write about it. You can probably say iot in a way that has never been said. Even if you never publish it, the process of writing will clarify your ability to communicate it :)

Just wow. 1:29:59 you’re in the middle of talking about social anxiety and using a confident outgoing social person possiblyyyyyy having a deep fear of not fitting in… Honestly, words and pictures (not pictures really but instant insight that seems like a thousand-word-minimum picture) are just boomeranging back into my awareness quicker than I can believe sometimes 💫🙏 Short version: my parents (all of life, really, but in this specific moment it’s about my folks) are so perfect in the awakening process all I can do is laugh at the cleverness

The info re social anxiety is very helpful. The example of dog behaviour makes a lot of sense as humans are also a social species. Acceptance by the pack/family/tribe equals survival. Love 'Learn to trust vulnerability'. Feeling the uncomfortable energy that has been repressed for (at least!) a lifetime surfacing now in the body. Thank you! 💜🙏

17:58 I have gone through extended (years) periods of this pressure or tension in the temples and eyebrows. Looking into different schools of thought I came across qi gong, which aims to sink that energy back down. I have lived with it and it does bother me from time to time, so although it might seem like the need for relief is a pushing away from that experience, I have gone into it and watched it evaporate, but it does return. So my hope is some qi gong can bring this energy back into balance. Living with it, although possible, is also negating or denying the bodies calls for assistance.

Yes this is a very common phenomenon when awakening deepens. Subtle resistance patterns can be quite sneaky, but it sounds like you are approaching it with compassion and intelligence :)

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake would you say I’m on the right track? To me it seems like the body is calling for more attention as there has been so much work on experience and the self. Also, really enjoy these talks. You got a name drop the other day on ‘theories of everything’ podcast with Kurt Jaimungal, he was interviewed by Zubin Damania who seemed to know and speak highly of you, I think Kurt might be interested in a podcast with you which I think would be really interesting (though maybe tiring).

@@Mevlinous indeed I think you’re right on it. There’s this paradox. Yes pay attention to the body and it’s energies. Yes there are practices that can balance these energies and ease subtle resistance patterns. At the same time there is a clear seeing/feeling/knowing that all of this work” is already total freedom. The freedom is in the realization that there is no solid entity or subtext that anything is about. It’s all just manifestation or phenomena innocently playing itself out. So the release is seeing that nothing needs released , it’s already total freedom ☺️

When letting go into the unknown, identification with thinking creeps in, in comparison when sustaining a slightly compact self who is mindful all upcoming sensations and thoughts can be caught as they arise. How do I move on and out of this loop? Of.course the question is who is the one who wants or can move out of it..yes I can let it slide and just abide but then thinking creeps in like a naughty dog that does naughty things the moment you look away for.a second.

I agree with Sam’s comment. What a blessing to be able to drop in on this session this morning. At first I felt cranky, as the conversation seemed so far over my head or beyond my experience that I could barely relate. Slowly things began to soften and come closer. Feels all the more tender in the contrast. My “white hot (red?) iron ball” seems to be in my gut/belly/intestines right now. All I can find to do is be with it as it does whatever it does, and offers whatever it offers. Thanks for sharing this session. Maybe 8 people online with you that day, and another 8 thousand since. Pretty cool how it all unfolds… 🙏🔥🫥

You like to use intimate.a lot. do you mean very close/no distance, or very private? Sorry I don’t have a good understanding of this word
@SimplyAlwaysAwake
@SimplyAlwaysAwake 2 жыл бұрын
Not private. It's a word I come to a lot because it's an aspect that I'm pointing to that just doesn't have a good word for it. More like closer than close, Home, and exquisitely familiar.

It really does, for me at least, feels like coming home, unspecified, simply home where I can relax and let go of all sense of doership after a 12h shift of work. I feel incredibly taken care of by this present moment, my current experience feels like home - a deep sense of comfort and peace beyond describing. Nowhere to go, nowhere to be - always already here.

So cool…this video spooled up while I’m painting and started at around 1:20:00 mark… such confirmation for me!! You mention letting parts of our self (?) I don’t remember if you said self … I think of them as spirit or feeling aspects of the human … like heart, mind, fear, jealousy… speak to each other in their various forms (parent, child, etc). At this point I’m probably majorly paraphrasing what you said and I can’t go back and listen to it without discarding the comment lol! Anyhoo I just wanted to tell you how nice it was to hear that because I have journaled some very bizarre conversations with myself! 😆😳😰🌚🌝🥸
