It sounds a lot like Carl Young's personality types

Actually, P.D. Ouspensky (Gurdjieff's main student) released "The Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution" around the same time (if not before) Sigmund Freud. Ouspensky's approach to psychology is taking man as he is as NOT normal, whereas modern psychology takes the approach of mankind having dysfunctions. The general metaphysical community wishes to attain to various "powers" while the Fourth Way material seeks first to discover what normal actually is with the beginning of self-observation. Only much later in the journey of self-study does one begin to work towards the development of higher-being bodies; i.e., the astral, mental, and causal bodies... or "Horse, carriage, driver, Master."

They are selections from both In Search of the Miraculous and The Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution I believe. Essentially this is a condensed version authored by his students, credited to G. In Search, like many other of Ouspensky's books (G's student) contain many quotes from G's lectures. So while the material is edited, it is still G.
