Same for me! I've been looking for a similar solution for quite a while now, didn't think it was so "easy" :) Thanks again

Thanks for the video! I'm struggling with something and I think your method might be the solution. I'm journaling my progress on a daily basis, I want to set a daily goal for the next day, and on the next day I want to open a new daily summary from a template, and inside I want to relate to the goal I had set for myself the previous day (I want notion to automatically grab the goal from the row below). Is that possible?

Are both the daily summary and the daily goal databases? And how/where do you add the goal for the next day? Feel free to eMail me at contact@kimpinelli.com if you want to explain in further detail :)

If your property is Goal of tomorrow: add the linked database in your “todays” template . Filter on “yesterday” and only show the goal of “yesterday”. Then you can complete the rest of “today”. (It has to be a property to show somewhere else). Thanks @Tal B for this idea! Gonna steal it :)

@@lizzylizzy744 but then if you go through your goals db, the goal will be linked to the wrong day. It‘ll be linked to the day it was created, rather than the one it was the goal for right? Or maybe my thinking right now is just wrong :D But even if I‘m right, that only matters if you ever go back through your goals db. If you just need it in the moment it‘ll definitely work!

@@KimPinelli , I would only use it on daily basis (in the end it will bring me to the main goal). And as long as you know how your system works, you know it was created the day before.... But if you want it on the right day: add a thick box: goal of today achieved! :). That will be on the right day ;). And you can use a roll-up to show how many times you hit you goal (..... getting in way to deep I think 😂)
@KimPinelli3 жыл бұрын
@@lizzylizzy744 No you're absolutely not, I don't do the daily goals, but I'd def. add the roll-ups as well! We often talk about the magic of relations, but roll-ups are so amazing as well!

How would you apply the project filter to sub tasks created inside the main tasks?
@KimPinelli2 жыл бұрын
I would create a specific Task Template for the project and add the filter in there already. So whenever you apply that template to a task you not only have the self-referencing filter on the subtask, but also the project!
@___x__x_r___xa__x_____f______2 жыл бұрын
@@KimPinelli the problem is the sub-tasks in this template will not have the project relation automatically. How would you implement this on the template level?
@KimPinelli2 жыл бұрын
@@___x__x_r___xa__x_____f______ As I said, I'd create a "sub task" template in the tasks db, with a self-referencing filter for the respective task, as well as a fixed relation to the project in question. With the new default filter option you can have a separate view for subtasks in the project and have the subtask template as default. But you'd still have to create the project template as well as the subtask template.
