Two other considerations. When heating cables are turn on, 1. the water flows down the gutter, so also have cable run down the downspout. 2. if the downspout drains into an underground drain, include cable down it too. Especially on the North side.

How safe are this things? I noticed an install where the end overlap on the pipe is 4' not 3' as per the stats should I fail this?

Great vid! Would you know how hot each product gets? I'm reading up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit for heat cables, but can't find anything on the heat tape. Many thanks!

I have the constant wattage cable. But....I only want the cable to "Turn on" when the temp is 32 degrees turn off when the temp is 36 degree how can I do this I've seen many controllers but?/ Thank you, mike

I found plug adapter at home depot that are temperature regulated. I think frost king makes them
