Looks great, nice install. Just wondering what the white strips are called that you use in between the boards to hide the joins
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Жыл бұрын
They are simply called 3mm wall and ceiling trims

Just come across ur channel and must say v impressed. Some great ideas and tips. Will certainly use them in our Sprinter conv. Just noticed how neatly you carpeted above rear doors. On our Sprinter we have a bunch of cables running to/from the light unit above the rear doors. Did you simply carpet over these cables or did you re-route them? Thanks again.

You could have used some telescopic plasterboard props to support your ceiling and give you some freedom to have your hands free. They're really cheap too. Or make a prop out of batten ?

Hey Sam, what diameter conduit did you use for the ceiling cables? Was it the flexible stuff? Cheers.
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife2 жыл бұрын

Hi Sam, Good job on the van conversion, I've been watching your videos really helpful. I didn't find one that shows the van wall ply lining have I missed one? I'm interested to see how you attached the ply, is it 5mm ply sheets? thanks
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Жыл бұрын
Well spotted as the van was ply lined when we bought it, we just reused it. I didn't see the point in showing me screwing the pre cut sheets back on, However, I see your point I will look to see if I have any footage of this to make a video for you 😁👍

@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife That explains not to have a video on the walls. Thanks, there is no need to create a video. I see some people have built stud framing under the ply, and I notice Greg used 9mm ply straight to the van walls. I'm trying to keep the weight down and wondering what works best balancing strength of walls and weight. Did you screw 6mm ply straight to the van metal? Thanks
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife Жыл бұрын
@Darren Player yes we did tge way I look at it is if 6mm ply is good enough for the majority of rough arse builders it good enough for us van builders too 😉😁👍

Hi Sam, what size wooden frame did you build for the maxxfan deluxe? Also, in your video, you mentioned packers where needed where the ceiling meets the fan, (19.24) what size/type where they please? Cheers.
@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife2 жыл бұрын
The frame for the fan is the same size as the hole I just used roofing latts and doubled them up if you check the fan install video you will see more detail there As for the packers along the open edge above the locker I used 6mm to support the ceiling panel and so I could add the click trim as for around the fan I don't think I ended up using any as the cowling pulled it up into place but I will check and get back to you 👍
