I love the idea of taking back play as an adult. There’s already enough of the difficult things to be dealing with in life so we might as well find joy when we can! 💜

I loved what you brought to this selection, and the inclusion of rage as a part of self care, showing up for where you’re at. While I think I often use whatever I feel, I definitely have some decks that are much better mirrors for rage for sure. Murder of crows is definitely a one I’d place here with grief also. Perhaps reclaim oracle too, just because I don’t see to pull a card that doesn’t fit the emotional space at the time. But it’s not quite the same. I imagine I have more too. Sending hugs, also colouring rocks right. 🥰🖤

You're so right that Murder of Crows also makes a useful grief deck ❤🩹Thank you, Tee!

I don't know how I haven't come across your channel before! I'm an early childhood nerd so I have lots of children's picture books; they are just as much for me as for the children in my life. Thank you for sharing the coloring books too; I have the tarot coloring book and have only worked on one page thus far. I think I need to be more intentional about self care and getting a self care bundle together might help. Thanks for a great, relatable video!

coloring is so underrated! i dont know if you are familiar with Molly Roberts, but she has quite a few free coloring pages on her website. they focus on concepts that you would find in an oracle deck and the premise that as you color them in, you are bringing that energy into your life. highly recommend!

Ah, Molly Roberts the art witch? I used to watch her videos! I'll need to see if she has a channel. I will totally go and check out her free coloring pages. Thanks so much for the tip! 💜

I am so similar to you in terms of creative play. My absolute biggest warning sign of a depressive episode is when I get apathetic about my hobbies. Just full 🚨DANGER🚨 when that happens. I read Big Magic based on your recommendation and I loved it…I really should reread it. Loved your commentary on rage decks and the importance of acknowledging rage in self-care. 💖💖💖

I'm so happy that you enjoyed Big Magic! I know it's hit or miss for some, but it really made such an impact on my perceptions/attitude!! Still feeling ragey. I might have to pull out Bangtan to calm me down--totally forgot to add that to my self-care bundle! 🤦🏻♀️

Oh I adore Big Magic, I listen to the audio book when I need a boost. I love colouring in, I am a fan on the intricate details though 😂 if you haven't come across Selina Fenech, she does gorgeous generally very witchy illustrations and colouring books, and single pages too. Care Bears is one of my big passions, I'd definitely include some of them in my self care kit. This was a fun video, I'd love to do my own.

I've seen some of Selina Fenech's decks but didn't know she has coloring books. Will definitely look them up--thank you for the rec!! Ah Care Bears are FAB for a self-care kit. I have a Cheer Bear from the 1980s that my MIL surprised me with for Xmas 🥰 I look forward to seeing your VR if you decide to do one!

Care bears!!!! Yes!!! I still have my original Cheer Bear from when I was a kid, I'm 44 now. Years ago I went on a collecting binge via local thrift stores and EBAY and got all the original vintage ones (not the cousins and spin-offs). Some day I'll come up with an "adult" way of displaying them. Lol

Like you my self care bundle changes with life. My rage decks are Barbieri Tarot-something about the art and landscapes, Stunning Tarot it's color palate , Crow Tarot feels like the crows understand rage with their calls and Morgan's Tarot it simply makes me laugh. Crochet is a self care creative play for me. Until you mentioned it I hadn't thought about creative play. I read short form poetry, not sure that's a name or not. An all time favorite is Small Stones From the River: Meditations and Micropoems by Kat Lehmann.

I love this! I have a Woobles crochet kit of a turtle that I'll be digging into soon. I can totally see how crocheting is creative play 🩷 I'll need to look up the poetry book you mention too 😊

Lovely video as always! I have one rage deck in my collection and that is Tarot de El dios de los tres. It's a Fournier deck so it has titles in both Spanish and English, and it's sooo nice to shuffle. And it's such a fiery deck, it really lends room for that burning rage!

Other than the two I mentioned, I haven't identified other rage decks in my collection . . . yet! Time will tell. Perhaps one of my Jasmine Beckett Griffith decks, or maybe even the Nicoletta Ceccoli, though I still haven't worked with that one yet. Good luck with your rage deck hunt! 🤞🏼👊🏼

This is the first time I've heard the term "rage deck", but now I know it, this is definitely what I bought the Runic Tarot for. Specifically rage related to toxic masculinity and patriarchy. To me it shows a world viewed through those lenses -- a lot of conquering through violence, unnecessary sexualization of women, all the women stay young and stereotypically beautiful while the men are allowed to age, etc. And while I'm a woman, I think the deck would also help men who've suffered at the hands of toxic masculinity and the patriarchy. For example, war veterans or guys who think they have to have a ripped body to be masculine. Although, the deck turned out to be a really good all-rounder deck too😆
@Peekaboorose7 ай бұрын
Oooh Runic Tarot--I know I've seen this one before, but I'll need to look it up again to refresh my memory! Glad that you're finding it to be a useful rage/all-rounder deck!

If I had to pick a rage deck from my collection it might have to be the Santa Muerte Tarot. Death, skeletons, etc. About as close to violence in a deck as I care to get, I think! Thanks for sharing, Julie 🧛
