Lol at Baby Girl knowing what she wants and then “flying away”! ❤ Lol at pizza cutter! 😳 That monochromatic looks is gorgeous! What a beautiful color and that drape! The finishing of the Zimmerman inspired dress/skirt/dress is exciting and the rickrack really makes it!

Thank you T!! Listen, one thing about baby girl, is that she knows what she wants!! I am so happy to have finally made the Owlette dress for her because she’s been asking for a while (which is cool, because she knows and believes I can do and make whatever she has in mind, which is kind of cool)

I wish I would’ve caught the cutting on video, because the rocking motion of the rotary cutter nearly made me sea sick, that’s how much she was moving it lol I can’t wait to share the Z inspired dress once it’s done, we are almost there!

Oh my, your patience is unreal. That would have gone in the bin ages ago. I love the fact that you are finishing your zimmerman dress because that has been shelved for far too long. Fatmata. You are a superwoman.

Glad you liked it, I felt like it may be rambly, but I thought it was important to document the challenges in case it resonated with others who may have gone through similar unexpectedly challenging projects, but pushed through!

Fatmata, hugs! I had the same kind of sewing experience yesterday and today, so here’s to understanding sewing is our refuge from actual real life…….and yes, very been here the whole Zimmerman journey, and I’m excited to see this! Ya ya! Yes, I know what the ric rac means! ❤

Aww I hope you persevered through your project as well! I love that you can share in the Zimmermann inspired dress excitement with me. Your encouragement since I shared this idea back in 2022 has been so comforting and I love that we are finally almost at the point of completing this dream dress, together!

Well done !! Owlette😍 and persisting with your cousins outfit! Hurray for Zimmermans dress ric rac 🎉 Helped set up a cross town 24/7 prayer room for peace leading up to Pentecost. Definitely felt more positive ❤

Thank you so much, Deb! It has been a good challenge for me to slow down and persist through projects and take that extra time. I think the bridal sewing at the start of the year helped me embrace this idea and I’m grateful for it. That’s so inspiring that you were able to help and assist with creating a safe space for prayer, our world can use so much of it right now. ❤️

She ABSOLUTELY knows what she wants, it’s fun to watch her create (on paper mostly) and make requests, I’m looking forward to when she’ll start crafting and sewing with me

Hello, How do you sew on your band for the blue abaya? I recently got into sewing and was wondering how other people do it. Also would it be possible to close the front side of the abaya after making the band? thank you in advance :)
@TIMAbyFK4 ай бұрын
Hi, and thank you so much for watching and for your patience. My apologies for the delayed response, I’m struggling with how to describe what I did in words, so I search around to see if there may be a tutorial that could exemplify it. I found this tutorial which is very similar to what I did for the sleeves on the abaya, I hope that this clear and detailed visual will be helpful to you if you would like to try something similar! 🤗 I could see a possibility of adding little ties to the front band or a snap so that you can have a closure on the basis, however I have not tried this with any of mine
