Definitely the best video for beginners I have ever seen. So many good points that most of us experienced shooters forget we even learn through trial and error.

No problem Mark Seljan I wish there was a video like this when I started. It would have made me progress alot faster. Even now I get in slumps where I have wild shots and have to think about everything im doing. Usually it is my pouch getting sticky from sweat so I have now started using baby powder on my fingers to correct it. btw that is a sweet hat dude.

Mark, I’m new to slingshots and have learned most on my own. I have tried to get ahold of you to buy a slant , what I don’t understand is why you advertise the slingshot but only certain people can get it? I really like the slant and have been trying to get someone to build me one some guys over seas but they say they don’t have the material to make it so one day I will find someone but until then thank you for such a sweet design!

Hello Mike! Thanks for stopping by and I see your confusion. I am not pushing my designs, but like to show them and present them in good quality. I am a designer by profession and also working as an associate professor at a local university. Beside my academic tasks my main goal is to create, less than sell. I had a period in my life when had the time to make frames for sale, but when my wife was expecting our daughter in 2018 she had a prescribed bed-rest. My daughter as a newborn also had some challenges. She is fine now, but it was a ride let me say. I had to cut my sales. What you see as my public image is years of work and many of my collectors and slingshot friends know me over 8 years. So if I make only a few new frames a year those may land in hands of people who nagging me or keeping contact for a while know. To balance this fact I try to work with Simple Shot as much as possible to offer my designs for the public. Since you had a nicely built up question I had to answer in details. I hope you keep your interest in my designs and I will be able to offer more customs to the public. I have not sold a Slant for quite some time btw. I hope this insight helps to get an articulated picture of the scene. Best regards, Mark

@@markseljan yes I will always look at your designs their the Glock of slingshots and I appreciate your feedback. If ever I could buy the ott slant please keep me in mind I’m a older gentleman and have become addictive to slingshots it used to be glocks but now I love to shoot and have acquired a great little collection. It’s my hobby now I make my own bands and really enjoy it keeps my mind off politics. Thanks for getting back to me it’s a pleasure to get a response. Thanks God bless! Hi what have I started to do wrong I’ve hit the back of my hand a couple of times didn’t feel I had done anything different with my aim
@markseljan2 жыл бұрын
Hello Douglas, Hand hits may occur for many reasons. Here is a checklist: 1. Bands are overpowered and release is shaky. 2. Pouch is slippery or stretched uneven. 3. Ammo rolls on thumb upon release (thumb is bent, not straight) 4. Elbow is way too low, not in line with bands. 5. The pouch hand is pressed too much into the anchor - pressed against the face. 6. Ammo grew some rust. 7. Slingshot frame is not vertical or perpendicular to target line. 8. Band starting to fail and should be replaced. 9. A sort of target panic. These are a few. Hope you can get an idea and sort it out. The best practice is to record a few videos from various angles and check for errors in technique. Kind regards, Mark

Cheers Mark I’ve replaced the band never crossed my mind that the rubber would wear unevenly 👍

Hey Mark where can I get your Torque necklace . I own 3 Torque slingshots my self. And i shoot nothing but Torque! Thank you For the Super design! I am able to hit Nickle size target with it at 10 meters. I made all my friends get one in Corvallis Oregon U.S.A
@markseljan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping by @Mehmet Kupeli ! Happy to hear you enjoy shooting and achieved that level of accuracy. The pendant is 3D printed in wax than molded in bronze. Pretty accurate in details, here is the link with pictures to check: www.shapeways.com/product/SE7S43YW7/the-torque-pendant

Are you telling me that you made the slingshot pendant, that it wasn't purchased from some other source?
@markseljan6 жыл бұрын
usernamemykel Yes, I made the design of the Torque for SimpleShot. The pendant is the same without tiny details. 3d printed wax cast in bronze. Even the loop tube slots are there 😃

That's incredible. I'd appreciate it very much if you would make one for me. Please advise how much you'd want for it, including shipping to Florida, USA Many thanks, THWACK! Please PM me at the "Slingshotforum.com"
@usernamemykel6 жыл бұрын
Just a couple of things I've noticed - the fork must be kept parallel to the target, not perpendicular. Some people might want to know the difference between TTF (through the forks) and OTT (over the top of the forks). You did not explain using the upper fork (if the slingshot is held sideways "gangsta style") as an aiming reference. Shooting at a blanket, sans target, in archery, is referred to as "blank bale shooting", from which to draw an analogy. I thoroughly enjoyed your manner of instruction, have "liked" and subbed, and hope to "see" you on the "Slingshotforum.com". Thanks for teaching folks how to get started with this wonderful hobby. THWACK!
