Liverpool fan here, just wildcarded and have taken Salah out of the team. For me Salah is at his best with a Jota/Firmino type false 9 where they will vacate the space occupied by the centre backs that allows Salah to run in behind. When Nunez plays. Nunez occupies that area which means Salah stays much wider. If Nunez continues to start (have to wait and see) Salah becomes a significantly worse option for me. Diaz also looks absolutely nailed and worth the punt

Salah has the 4th highest xG and 3rd highest xAG (assists) in the league this season. Liverpool had a bad game against Forest. Outside of that, Liverpool and Salah have been great. I get it's hard as everyone rightfully wants Haaland but I'm not having that Salah isn't a great option

If he continues this season at the rate he's started, it will be his best season for Liverpool. Now, I don't expect him to continue as well as he's start as Liverpool has had good fixtures but he's simply been good this season so far

I think the reason people are tempted to bring Konaté in is because he's playing absolutely gorgeous football at the moment. Tempted to call him man of the match against Bournemouth. Andy I had Diaz for the first three games of the season and then sold him after he scored 2 against United. I am a Liverpool fan and was in the same position as you. I can't help but feel that Gakpo will begin to get more starts and I also think that Diaz won't keep up this hot form for too much longer, he's not going to be a 90 minute man even if he does start and Liverpool's fixtures 8-11 are tricky. Players won't get as many returns. Salah will outscore Diaz in the next 6 based on minutes, penalties and the fact that Salah is a more supreme goalscorer. He's still the best Liverpool option. More nailed players will start to become more popular soon among fpl managers.

Agree with you on the Diaz situation. He could very well go on bang in but he isn't playing full 90mins and I'd rather go for say, Rogers, Eze, SR and saka. TAA is probably my only Liverpool asset going forward. I think one can go for Diaz but I think with the rotaion comments from Slot makes me think Gakpo could come in at any point.

No Liverpool fan here, If you watched COPA America there should be no doubt in your mind about getting Diaz. He dominates 90%+ or more of defenders he goes up against in terms of 1v1 ability. Now that he’s starting to get end results (assists and goals) he’s got to be up there with some of the best individual attackers in Europe. If he’s having results like this in the Prem right now, imagine what he’s doing to his teammates in training, I don’t think there’s any chance Arne Slot isn’t picking him baring injury

I was always planning to sell Salah on my GW6 wildcard. Started with Both Haaland & Salah, and in short term that seems to have worked decently, but I think going from Salah to Saka with Arsenals turn of fixtures just makes sense. Diaz I agree is a bit more tricky. I currently have him in, but not made my final choice.

Love the content Andy and like following allowing with your thoughts processes. I think a lot of content creaters and FPL experts are looking too much into the future though with certain players and stamping their own bias on picks. I think recently you have spoke about Fernandes and how you still think he could be a good pick. This is because of the data, the potential of pens and that he is man utd's "star player". Facts are facts though and man utd dont look like a threat going forward. He still has no real striker to find and that there will be less pens given this year. If you compare someone like Diaz (top scoring midfielder this year in FPL). The bias comes from the start of the season in which everyone (myself included) thought he could be a rotation risk. Currently he isnt though. So the answer is you play him until something changes and that's what free transfers are for. If performances drop, players get less mins or an injury happens you make the moves then. Too many people think about the what ifs in FPL but dont balance it with a view of what is actually happening

Stop looking at ownership and absolutely stop using mass transfers as a decision making tool. There’s over 10m people in the game; guaranteed over 50% of them have no idea what they’re doing, and another 25% are just copying a content creator. Mass transfers mean nothing anymore; that doesn’t mean they’re wrong every time, but it doesn’t mean they’re right either.

Do fixtures really matter if it's an attacking player? Liverpool has the best xGA and it's 4.2 in 5 games, they're expected to concede about 0.8 goals every game and they've had easy fixtures. Anyone can score against anyone now, teams have been struggling to keep clean sheets. I held Saka for Spurs and City while everyone was transferring him out and he returned 11pts in those two "difficult" fixtures. Just hold the good attacking players regardless of fixtures.
