Thanks for this video! In tandem with another video I was able to tear down the laptop, re-paste GPU/CPU, replace two broken fans, upgrade to 1TB m.2 SSD, aaand put it all back together (booting successfully the first time!). Thank you so much, I appreciate you doing this video!

Thanks so much for the video. Sooo grateful. Removed battery (wasn't working), cleaned heat sinks, fans, new thermal paste- all in one take. Thanks to u. I like that most screws were of same size, wasn't hard to remember what goes where. Before: cpu temp was hitting upto 95°C averaging 85 in max load After: upto 80 averaging 75 Also laptop weight reduced cause by battery removal.

Seeing the heatsink on GPU was a huge disappointment i thought it had MXM that could be swapped out but looks like everything is soldered as of now on Alienware's

How are you ? I hope it's ok. I have a question. I have an alienware 18 R3, which has a problem, and it is that it does not recognize the video cards, today I bought a card to see if they were the card and it remains the same. help me with a harvest thank you very much

What should i open if i just want to clean up the fan and sort of thing? Also put the thermal paste on the cpu
@Sellbrokedotcom3 жыл бұрын
You would be much better off blasting short spurts of canned air into the bottom and rear vents to clean the fans and heatsink. If you want to redo your thermal paste prepare to remove almost everything to get the motherboard out of the case so you can reach the heatsink screws. I would air clean your fans and heatsink and see if that helps first.

Is an NVMe drive compatible with this laptop or just M2 Sata like the one that comes stock with it?
@Sellbrokedotcom3 жыл бұрын
It looks like the slots are NVMe keyed so they are probably a hybrid slot. I'd double check on some forums but it looks like it will take either.

Shitty designs, expensive, are not easy to open, disassemble and those shit flexes that give shame, reminds me of the keyboard flexes of the Sinclair spectrum and Commodore Amiga, a false movement and you broke everything., Very uncomfortable for give it maintenance and cleaning, I have an old Acer and it is beautiful you just open the back cover with 3 screws and access all the hardware and fan heatsinks, disassemble you do your work you close and as new in less than 5 minutes open and close.

Hey, could you tell which screw is used for PCIe SSD slot?
@Sellbrokedotcom4 жыл бұрын
Not exactly, but if you have a small bag of laptop screws one should fit. A lot of them have the same thread size and pitch.

I would try Google and see how to boot your laptop in SAFE mode, then if you can do that, reinstall the drivers for your video card.
