Sellers Are LEAVING Whatnot!

Ok I have to clarify and apologize… I don’t hate you. And I don’t want you thinking that. It takes A LOT for me to hate people. I think we’re both VERY strong headed and tend to disagree on things. And then I get snarky and say things I shouldn’t 😆 it’s a curse. There’s some weird crap going on on there. I am still popping up on occasion because this is my sole income and I need the instant payouts while I work on transitioning over elsewhere. Feel free to message if you have any questions or want info etc. Oh also.. yes I was referring to you about the negative videos but didn’t mean you were negative I meant negative findings on the platform in general. Dishonest things that I do see happening etc. It’s disappointing they’ll continue to support someone selling fakes but someone like me who’s rallied for the community and built an honest following is being told to pay to promote my shows lol. Makes zero sense.

I went over to Jamble and I’m loving it. No cliques, no favoritism that I can tell so far. The app has a long way to go but they are a grassroots start-up with $125K where WN has rec’d hundred of millions in grants and funding. I made a post in a whatnot group after I received a package and they had used a ton of new usps bubble mailers as padding and shipped first class mail. I just said in the post that we shouldn’t do this because you can be charged for each one. I was attacked in the group, called names and made fun of. People were bragging about illegally using shipping materials. Admins even called out my post. I haven’t been back to whatnot since, I don’t want to associate with that mentality.

That's awesome. Vote with your wallet. Using USPS free postal supplies for anything but their intended use is a punishable crime, as it should be. The seller's that are bragging about doing this give honest, hardworking sellers a bad name and their accounts should be closed on whatever platform they sell on. This really pisses me off.

@@elizabethwitt2621 yeah, everyone was calling me a “Karen” and making fun of me. I told them I was just trying to prevent someone from getting charged financially or criminally for that if maybe they didn’t know it was wrong… but instead was met with a ton of people who were proud to break the rules. Those people hurt all the resellers who have to purchase shipping supplies and then compete with their prices. There are a lot of people on that app that jump on and sell some stuff and think they are a lot bigger and knowledgeable than they are.

As a former carrier I have seen postal employees lose their jobs for misusing free shipping materials. It's illegal.

I keep reporting to Whatnot the sellers that are selling the counterfeit items. Whatnot doesn't do a single thing. They close my reports.

@@ladizon4354I also buy items on WN. Vanessa has some amazing videos showing how to spot a fake on certain brands. It’s worth it to go back & watch them!👍🏼She also has mentioned some of the biggest offenders of selling fake products in her previous videos. There’s nothing worse than buying a fake item that you were told was authentic, being charged & then going through the drawn out process of trying to get your $$ back. My advice is to definitely go back & watch Vanessa’s videos & educate yourself as much as you can on how to spot a fake on the brands that you love to buy. Good luck. Wish you the best.👍🏼

I think your downfall for what not was calling out Nicole St… she’s been in this type of business for years many years, and has always come out of the issues brought against her. She knows how that system works from the wrong mailing weight at eBay and getting banned to the merch truckloads and promises broken . She’s made a lot of enemies and took down site within a week, a lot of people have lost dealing with her. But she always comes back. It’s her thing. And she knows how it works and how to us it. Plus as a businesswoman you should know that any app is there adjust to make money. Every single app we sell on is there just to make money.

Stay Away From Whatnot is my advice. Bad for buyers and sellers. Changing clasps to different designers, sourcing from Temu, adding new "vintage looking" pieces in with supposed estate lots. Items arriving broken or not at all. I try not to get WN involved in those cases but when the sellers encourage me to, I receive a full refund...not just on 1 piece, but the whole order. Then the sellers hate you! Sellers buying back and forth from each other. It's an expensive social event. Wanted to support women owned businesses, but I'm done. Overpriced everything you can buy on eBay with a guarantee for much less. I should do a psa. Dogs barking, cats and kids sitting on display tables...it's a hot mess.

Buyers are leaving Whatnot even more. If you get damaged, wrong or defective items good luck getting your money back. Just say stick with more serious marketplaces, this one is a joke.

I just want everybody to know that there were a lot of great resellers on Whatnot. Honest, hard-working family oriented people that have great product new with labels as well as those that have Thrifted great items no stains no tears and all of them have great reviews.

I've never denied there were good sellers there. but the app as a whole is terrible. for many, many reasons.

@@vadisrad I just had probably five different bundles delivered in the last week. All were in excellent condition condition great product with exception one bundle had one piece missing. I put in a auction number the item number they actually have videos of the piece that you purchased now that’s right on your phone if you have the item number sent that to them and they refunded my money automatically.

You say this, but you can say bad things about posh you can say bad things about eBay you can say bad things about what not. You can say bad things about any selling platform it’s up for us to find the good in things.

Sorry, not trying to be rude or mean, but I think you're missing the point. It's not about looking for the good on the platforms (like the glass is half full), it's about wanting the platforms to do something about bad sellers because they hurt the reputation of honest sellers, damage buyer trust and confidence in the platforms themselves. Both word of mouth and social media are very powerful, as you know. I know if anyone I trust tells me not to buy from someone or from a particular platform for good reason, I'm probably going to listen to that That's looking out for each other. Looking for the good, doesn't solve the problems or remove scamming sellers. If there are no sanctions against bad sellers, then the inmates are running the asylum and buyer confidence is gone. Without buyers buying, everyone is out of business.

They did it to me too. I had a show and right after I ended my show a notification popped up and said I missed going live on the show even though I was on and had just ended it so they suspended me from live selling and didn’t help at all when I contacted support :/
