Olly meets up with the man behind the design of the Type R EP3, Julian Thomson. Julian has his very own Honda Civic Type R EP3 as he tries to employ the philosophy of “Drive what you design” but in this video, it is the end of the road for his EP3. We have a deep dive through the history, parts and condition of this car to give you the best opportunity to see the condition of the car. Julian is a huge fan of the hot hatch, owning many others over the years including a Renault 5 Turbo GT, Golf GTi, Ford XR2i. Nowadays the FL5 Civic Type R that his wife owns as the current daily is welcome alongside a Clio 182, a Lotus Elise (that he also designed) and many more cars in the fleet.

4k refers to the Video quality mate, not all You Tube videos are filmed in 4k, it would had have a £ sign before it if it was the price.

Great video, currently got a grey ep3, ( barley any rust behind speakers ) previously had the fk8, I couldn’t help but notice the black fl5 in the background, now that is something I’m goner have to own 1 day 🙏🏻what a gorgeous sleek looking motor

my first car a 2019 VW Up GTI blew up a year ago and I’m now looking at selling it and getting an ep3 type r, I’ve watched all your videos about the type r and think it’s an absolute dream to own one. I’ve been without a car for a while car-sharing and using my dads car😭

I’m not too sure! My guess was that the previous system was just sucking on hot air so this was probably better than that but not as good as a cold feed intake

Nice example. DC sports 4-2-1 - is that the decat? I had a DC sports race header (decat) and full Spoon N1 system and that was pretty noisy. The DCRH is now sitting in my garage !
