Man, i love seeing more of the business side of things. In good about figuring out how much something costs me in materials, but absolutely awful about factoring in time, utilities, tools, etc. I need to be more business-minded.

My biggest thing would be change and reduce your amount of plastic. Little paper bags are cheaper and degrade. But does look amazing

I do a lot of rubber stamping as a hobby and honestly, I would print packaging especially with the amount of work she already has to do with her posters and buttons. Streamline the process. I had considered suggesting stickers but that adds to the process and at this stage that isn't what she actually needs, plus most of Baylee's fans would rather have a sticker as purchase or freebie than on packaging.

Definitely cause its anime north where alot of artists are gathered in one area that has many people and fans coming over, maybe a large number of your fans come over since Anime North is quite a big event. Definitely love it that you're selling alot of your prints and merch, would love to buy a print from you someday, cause you inspire me :D

I think you can ask Anime North for a volunteer to help you if sales are that intense. I know there are some cons do that. I'll keep in mind that you need a bunch of craft bags if I pick up something at the dollar store for you next time.

You could slowly start printing through out the year before convention time so that way when it’s time you can have a stash of prints so you won’t have the stress of printing everything at one when it’s time and you don’t have to splurge on money . Same goes for buttons which can be a stream if you don’t have any ideas. Another idea is to set $5-10 or whatever amount of money you want every pay day and then you can have some money set aside for convention season.

oh, for future cons you can sometimes find someone local (with a car) to work 3 hours a day during con. 3 hours a day keeps wages cost low but is enough time to make it actually worth the time of showing up. As well as you could probably find someone who is a fan of yours who is just psyched to get tickets to the con and some spending money while they're there. as well as find a print shop you can drop off a USB with high quality files to before the con starts and then email them throughout the day with the prints you need so they get them ready in advance of you (or a helper) coming to pick them up. but both these are logistically complicated, but, ya know, options.

In the states you can definitely ship to the convention center, but you have to use their process and you can write it off on your taxes...not sure how that applies to Canada.

I'm so sad that I missed you, I live downtown toronto but no one would go with me to Anime North :(. Any chance you'll be going to FanExpo toronto? Also next time you're in Toronto use Lyft. It's like Uber but cheaper and you get lots of coupons. Most of the time if you use it with a friend it's cheaper than the ttc.

I considered using ride sharing, but I didn't have the mobile data to download the app. I accidentally had wifi turned off at my hotel and burned through all my data. We don't have Lyft or Uber here in Vancouver, so I didn't have the apps already.

(also even if you have the chance don't bother with uber. theyre snakes that will add all these extra bullshit charges if you're not careful!)
