This is the best video about a private water bottling company that i have seen in a while. I am also considering starting a small bottle water company

This is the best comprehensive quality video I have seen on this business and probably any other. Great detail, excellent passionate operation. Thanks for the effort and time to share this pure gold. Looking to start a water distribution venture in the next few months. This is valuable. Sad to hear you left the business, but then again, your health comes first and it appears the business was no longer as viable. All the best with the new venture!

@@frenchriversprings Great Channel & Great Content! If you don't mind me asking, why did you sell your equipment & leave the water distribution business? I ask because I'm in a similar situation to what you were in before it appears you went into carpentry. So I'm asking you as if I'm speaking to myself 25 years into the future (I'm 25 now, econ major etc, This pandemic has really shown me the need to be in an industry vital for human survival). What are the biggest drawbacks & challenges to distributing water? As well as, what are the upside of being in the water business? (Appreciate the response in advance)

I was in the water business for 16 years. At first it was ok. I was younger and working hard and long hours in the summer. Diesel was cheap. In the last 6 years in business I was letting go more and more customers because my back couldn’t handle the volume anymore. Also everything was getting more and more expensive. Diesel, truck repair, insurance etc. But in my 16 years in business I only raised the price of water by 50 cents per 5 gallon jugs. Basically the price of water never whent up. And to this day, water is still cheap. Everything goes up except water. I gave my customers to a local water business and they went bankrupt a year later. I my opinion, it is a terrible idea to get in the water business these days. The last year I was in business, I put 17k in truck repair so never made any money.

I'm glad things worked out for you. I used to sell water treatment systems and I must commend you on the design of yours. I don't know if most people would know on here but you have spent a considerate amount of money to be up to drinking water standards. Good luck to you and thanks for all your videos. :)

@@heartsatry4118 I was just notified of your comment for some reason so sorry for that. Please take this advice very carefully because I have never been to your country and this is just my opinion. Also I won't be accountable for any mistakes you or any others make, this is just how I would approach it myself. First I would need to find a good source of clean and hopefully treated water supply and tell them what I was thinking about. Then I would ask them to provide a current water test and results of the test. Then I would check the local codes for drinking water quality standards and then I would meet with an engineer or someone that knows how to figure out a legal (up to code) treatment system. I would never consider just bottling local (or any) tap water! Water is a very serious business and people could be made very sick or worse if It's contaminated with bacteria or other things, heavy metals etc. I know this sounds like very serious business and it is because I could not bear the feelings I would have at hurting someone. So be careful and do a LOT of research before attempting something like this. Good luck and God Bless. :)

I have searched, and I have searched, and searched more, and finally found your video. There are so many useless water bottling videos, yours is nOt one of them ! You are as close to everything I am trying to accomplish, as I am in a very similar situation as yours with a spring fed well on my property and have sought to figure out how I can setup just as you have. I've purchased an RO ststem, but I knew there would be much more to it, so I've been trying to find some1 like yourself who has. This is a fantastic set up for a home based business, I judt hope I can recreate what you have !

did you ever have issues with bottles leaking from the cap suction? I am having that issue when i put my bottles on its side. They start to drip. Seems like the plastic on the bottle has small ridges and water seeps through.
@frenchriversprings2 жыл бұрын
Yes I had that problem. I used a different cap and very few bottles leaked after that. The caps that worked had a silicone bead. The ones with the foam leaked. Also some bottles manufacturers make the bottle lip more precise and that helps.

Somewhere in the comments you said your profits were a little less than an average job and if you paid a driver to deliver you wouldn’t make any money. Do you think you would have had more of a profit margin if it was artisan well water instead of the natural spring water??
@frenchriversprings2 жыл бұрын

@jamesczarski17273 жыл бұрын
it seems like a lot of work, especially when you factor in delivery. Can I ask how much profit you earn in a typical year?
@frenchriversprings3 жыл бұрын
A bit less than an average job. And yes it was a lot of work. I was not able to sell my clientele. So gave it for free to a local bottled water company. Gave all the racks for free also. One year later, the company went bankrupt. As for my equipment, I got almost nothing for it. Got 25k for my truck but had just put 18k in repairs in last 12 months. Was a hard business to be in. Back breaking work. If I would have paid someone to deliver for me , I would not have made any profit.
