I remember seeing this that day. If only I pulled my camera out. But I've been down there recently and the new one is all built up now. Let's just see if we have learned from our mistakes now.

I remember it as well I was only 9 at the time so seeing it again had reminded me of it all

@@lewishas same. That morning at around 8am I could smell smoke and a relative told me that it looks like a house fire. When I went outside I was wordless at the sight my eyes could see. Black smoke flying directly over our property. While speaking with other neighbours I heard a few explosions in the distance. Possibly cars exploding. As me and my family left for holiday later that day we saw around 10 fire engines coming in. While listening to tge radio we heard selsey academy catched fire. I believed it was some angry kid who wanted a longer holiday. That is until the true cause was revealed. To this day I'm still moved by the situation that broke out back then.

I really believe that all fire and rescue service workers do their best to keep us safe and protect our property and our possessions from any disasters that may occur. My problem is that the video above shows at 4.26 a firefighter texting on his phone while a severe fire takes place in the background. I hope he is informing his family that he is ok.

I know you posted this 2 years ago but I was there and it was bigger than it looked and the fire fighters were told to wait for the wind to settle so it was easier to control

I was on holiday at my nans caravan when this happened

It should be mandatory for these places (and all new builds) to have sprinkler systems...not much use throwing water on it when its already that gone!

Matthew Wilson it's going to take a few years to rebuild the school I go to but, a sprinkler system may be added.
