@gb6041
@gb6041 8 ай бұрын
@FarmingInAfricaOfficial find a lawyer to take them to court for the court to put injunction on the land and give you enough time to move out. This is business, and no business can vacate their site in 2 weeks. You've spent a lot of money so the chief can pay you or give you time to leave. I guess you have a bigger land at Seikwa, so move the goats there even though there is still inconvenience. This is jealousy and stupidity to the 100th power. My advice to you is that wherever you go, please grease the chief and elders' palms at the end of the year. I contribute 2000ghs every year to the village where I live

@@gb6041 In West Africa there is a two step legal system. The government cannot override the local chiefs because they depend on them to encourage the people to vote for them. We have the same issue of community land in Sierra Leone

@melrosebrowne-morgan9330 you don't understand my point. Yes, the land is for the chief, but you can't give a business that has been in existence for 5 years, just 2wks to vacate. By the way, Fred owns the land and must be treated fairly

I am from Burkina Faso and I went through things like that. they chased me from their village to take back their land that I purchased. it broke my heart in pieces. But later God gave me another land more than 2 times bigger (18ha for the first and 42ha for the new land) more fertile( I did a drilling and got a very big water flow rate 60m3/hour) and more closer (from 600km for the first land to 120km for the new). few months later terrorists invaded their region and as I am writing this to you no one can leave the area to come to town if not by escort which takes place every 3 months around. My conclusion: they did not drive me away, it is rather God who delivered me before I do more heavier investment and loose more. so believe me my friend Fred you will understand it better bye and bye and you will tank God for what happened. the only regret that u will have is why this did not even happen earlier.

You all remember State Farms of yesteryear If it wasn't defunct, having been shared by party functionaries & top govt officials, this is when this farmer could have received support & assistance from the State. In any civilized country, his project can be likened to a "demonstration " farm for agric students, prospective farmers etc, even our so-called "experts" Yet, here we have a young man in dire straits over where to re- site his 5-year old farm. Govt farm land & property land has been shared by govt & political functionaries. So you see a promising & productive agric venture COULD BE stalled over senseless customs. Where lies the development & progress in this? "Dabi na y3 b3 hunu" Even right now. I hope he gets an extension even for 1 month to find an alternative site

Hello Fred, I am currently in Canada building a farm in the Volta Region, (Denu area close to Togo). I have 10 acres of land that I recently acquired, you are welcome to use it. I have another 2 plots that has structures already built, you can house some of your goats there with a signed contract. Having a sign contract will protect you and ensure that your goats are returned back to you once you find permanent accommodation. I am saddened by this news and I hope to hear from you soon.

Watching from Kenya. I am really saddened by this. This is why even Ghana being one of the first countries to gain independence it has nothing much to show for it. The story of chiefs having that much power is really disheartening ,in Kenya only courts have final say

As an African in diaspora, this is one my worst fears about returning to and investing in Africa. Uncertainties and instability just seem to loom large and that can be quite discouraging. I hope you find divine favour at this point, when you most need it.

Sadly culture and progress don't go hand in hand. It's a mindset thing. What makes it even more painful is the fact that we have to respect cultures even when we are faced with issues that are more about ignorance. I truly hope you get a conducive place to setup again Fred. I for sure have learned so much from your channel over the months and I hope you don't give up.

I’m even tearing up. I’m really sorry you are going through this. If it’s not too much ask, you can get lots of fertile land running into hundreds of acres in kintampo which is not too far from Berekum. On the flip side, I’m sure you may have considered using that for other livestock that is permitted such as cattle.. maybe just fattening and selling so that at least most of the infrastructure can be put to use. I’m sure things like the wood and chain link can be dismantled and set up again on another land. You are in my prayers. May God grant you wisdom and strength to go through this challenge. All the best

Fred, this is very disappointing and disturbing. We purchased land from the chief and registered it...We started pig farming a year ago. Are you saying that here in Ghana he has the power to now tell us to remove all our pigs? This sounds very scary.. Can you speak with another chief...have you offered a bride to correct this situation? I'm praying for you and your family

At least you need law enforcement involved to give you enough time to relocate the goats. In this day and age of civilization, such nonsense must be addressed via a civil court!!
