Its that half front kick to the body that started it. Its his signature. Can change the whole fight with that one kick. Once he hit it, it was a matter of time. The clean shot Semmy landed to the head was a bi product of that kick to the body. Absolute hell of a kick

@@freeair7292 I couldn't agree more! The man could throw with the best of them. He wasn't a bad MMA guy either. He went 1 and 1 in the UFC. Beat Pete Williams with that body kick and punches. Lost to Josh Barnett who was tough in his own right. With a little more ground training no doubt he becomes a champ. One of the pioneers of Martial Arts. Blessed to have lived in the time of these gladiators

I disagree with the commentary in this fight. The reason Badr beat Semmy In the first fight was because he was immediately explosive and caught Semmy cold.

Correct. He's throwing these telegraphed shots with lots of force in order to get past Semmy's long guard. This is how he won the first time because Semmy is long but not very fast. If Badr had an iron chin he could have won that way again.

@@mr.marino9247 if you accurately snipe the chin (which is easiest with a hook or uppercut), you make the head suddenly jank in an unnatural way, being the easiest way to knockout. The hook isn't a much stronger punch than a jab, it's mostly that it has a better chance of hitting weakspots (chin, liver)

Don’t be unfair. Schilt connected a ver good jab that destabilized Badr and the fight was over. That’s it, but before that Badr was pressing him and was clearly winning using the same strategy that he used in his first fight when he won and it was a clearly one sided fight.

Badr already fought Karaev & Overeem. Especially the fight with Overeem drained a lot of energy, because he pressured himself with the promise that he would win of Overeem in the first Round. Schilt also is a big strong man, he was 30 kg more than almost all the other heavyweight fighters in K1. He should fight in the Giant League 😂. Overall a great tournament

Wtf that's no excuse, Semmy also fought twice and both Badr and Semmy both had 2 wins by 1e rounds knockout so they're exactly even. Also why do you think that a first round knockout drains more energy fighting 3 whole rounds? Getting a first round knockout is the best possible thing to get when you're fighting a tournament and need to fight 3 fights on 1 night.

Fun fact: Badr is Dutch (born in Amsterdam) Semmy Shilt is Dutch and Remi Aerts as well. Badr consideres himself Moroccon which I respect, but they all grew up in the same country. Just a fun fact. (Jamal Ben Saddik just a few kilometers south as well btw)
