Very excited for this upcoming season. The business we have done so far in the mercato has been exceptional. After sales (Fode-Ballo, Rebic, Origi, Messias, Salemaekers) I think another CM, deputy LB/RB, and maybe a CB rounds everything up. Smart moves have been made that genuinely raise the quality of this team. And what I like most is the fact that the guys we have brought in are still young and have more room to grow with the project. I know things started shaky this summer, but Redbird, Moncada, Furlani, and Pioli have done great work so far. I think we are in for a new revolution.

With the signings that we have made, I think we will finally get to see what Pioli and this team are really made of. I think we have harshly judged Pioli myself included, at times without noting that he has had to make do with the little he has had to work with. I questioned his flexibility and tactical approaches, his reluctance to rotate the squad at times, his lacking desire to try players in different roles, but we forget the quality and depth hasn’t always been there, especially when factoring unfortunate injuries. This mercato we have brought quality and experienced talent ready to make an immediate impact. And it is clear that the signings we have made have seriously targeted our desired style of play and have included the input of Pioli which will help in the players integration so much better now. With this new team, the 433 will really unlock the potential of this side. And we will now really be able to judge Pioli because not only does he now have quality, he also has versatility. There is no excuse now to approach games poorly tactically, no excuse to not be flexible, and no reason to not experiment with these players while they are still developing. A scudetto can be in our future not just this upcoming season, but we can be legitimate contenders for years to come. And as for the CL, with a few touches to our midfield and defense, I don’t fear anyone in the CL and think we can continue to grow on that front and become a consistent European power again.

I didn't see the whole match, but from the highlights of our possession, I really like this new way of playing. It's the same quick interchange passing, but much closer, with more emphasis on dominating the midfield to create chances.

Letting Colombo goes on loan will be a mistake. I could see him look more threatening than Giroud in holding up, pressing on defenders, the movement on and off the ball really matured. He would definitely be helpful in a long season.

Does the signing of both Pulisic and Chukweze indicate that it’s more likely than not that Milan play in the same 4-2-3-1 as opposed to the 4-3-3 that’s been seen so far?

Milan do need to add a good quality veteran that can come off the bench. Taremi or Morata would help. They've got enough young potential talent to grow rich from, but the team will experience challenges in a long season and Giroud can't be expected to be the lone voice of composure.

Lol Torgrude, you're usually on your game re: game stats but you got all 3 madrid goals wrong 😂 sportiello's miss was the first one and it didn't nutmeg, then tomori's failed inch perfect pass to Valverde, and leao never passed to modric for the 3rd (he got tackled and lost possession)... nonetheless, great podcast as always from the A team!

Honestly I know it’s pre season and this may sound harsh, but Pioli is fucking tool. Why is he waiting until the 70 minute to make substitutions?

Because guys like Leao, Giroud, Mike, Theo etc have only just returned to the club to start training. Starting them in the 2nd half is a higher risk of injury than the 70th minute.

Bc most of sub only have 25min fitness, they all just joined from extended holiday, while all starting player has been in training since day 1. Next time do research or ask 1st before u insult someone over something u dont know especialy if that someone is a person who deserve to be respected

He can’t risk injuring his players that have not been training with the team. Pioli also needs to see certain players to evaluate them. This is just preseason football which is more to get the players fit and familiar with the system. So winning or losing means nothing.

@@UTPlaysNepal yes but playing at Milan is not the same as Club Brugge. Also, I don’t think he has the mental strength to succeed at a big club. I might wrong because players need time to adapt but does Milan have time to wait 3-4 for a player to fully develop? I don’t think so. The goals of the club has change now and we need players who can make the difference. I would sell him and cut my losses. Atalanta is interested maybe we do a deal and get Hojlund.

I'm still upset with the missed opportunity with the Berlusconi cup. Let's have the Monza vs Milan, but surely we should have a game between legends (+50yo) and the feminile u17... There is little imagination from these people.

i think throughout the season we may see leao or CDK at ST. I don't really see CDK in a midfield 3 nor does Pioli play him on the wing. Despite what people say, i have faith in him
