I sleep better knowing he has a say in our legislative process. I was specialist on medicine and I treated a woman who was hit from behind by a loaded truck, which could not stop at a Toll Booth with bad brakes. The truck was forced to go on the road by the driver's manager above the driver's objections. She suffers from permanent damage. Other vehicles and people could have been involved, but thankfully, were not. A court ruled in her favor overwhelmingly when the driver testified!!

Attacking Al personally does not defend the actions of Gorsuch. Gorsuch said a truck driver should be fired because he left his vehicle in order to escape sub-zero temperatures. That was a bad decision and should be explained. He has worked for Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II. He was cited for distinguished service helping Bush II's judicial nominees. So he knows about nominating judges. He should say that the Republicans should not have blocked Merrick Garland's nomination for 10 months. That has never been done in the history of this country. His not answering the question is political.

Franken tried to make an argument of political activism from over 40 years ago when Gorsuch was likely in late teens or early twenties and tried to bring it into a present context . That was an utter failure. And it was embarrassing.

The questions Franken was asking were based upon the political beliefs and statements of others -- those who chose to nominate Gorsuch. He declined to answer because the purpose of the hearing was about his record and credibility as a judge, not the reasons why he was nominated. In addition, he declined to answer the questions about his political beliefs because he isn't supposed to talk about that either. If you watched the whole thing, you would know that he answered all questions that were actually about his record and his credibility to the fullest extent, as well as being very gracious in answering the countless questions that he couldn't really provide an answer to.
