Reagan and Obama both thoroughly botched debates and fell behind in the polls months before the election. People said Reagan was too old, but voters gave him a landslide victory. Biden's numbers are still essentially static. Polls that focused on specific issues indicated that the debate had little effect. Voters knew Biden was old, they knew that Trump was a lying menace going into the discussion. They would rather have an old man than a liar and felon. Defeatism creates defeat, a split party leads to defeat, every single time. That is what happened in 2016. At this point, the Judas Democrats have done far more damage than either the media or the Republicans.
