I discovered this game in 2018, but one of my best friends discovered it this past couple of weeks. Today, I spent 10 and a half hours in a VC with him as he went all the way from the Imperial Villa to the very end of the game. We had lunch and dinner together (I had buffalo wings for the former and assorted junk foods for the latter), discussed topic after topic, and just took the last arc of this incredible game in. We felt every emotion in existence; we smiled, laughed, cried, got angry, irritated, were confused and befuddled, pensive, and exhausted. It was amazing, it was trying, and it was fun as hell. It’s going to make an indelible and precious memory. This song seems like the most fitting place to put it. What a game, what a day, what a friend.

goggles789 Well, it depends on which game you’re talking about and what you look for in a game. For the Trails games, I find the world building to be incredible with the layers it creates over the course of the games. I’ll be the first to say to story of each individual game is nothing you’ve not seen before, but the games have established an interesting world in which these things happen. Trails, at least in my view, has always had an incredibly engaging minutiae underneath the big, overstated plot lines so many of these games have. The games use a cohesive idea of how society works in this world they’ve created to inform how these plots play out and the ramifications of world-news tier events (like the Orbal Shutdown Phenomenon in Sky SC or the coup d'état of the Erebonian chancellor against the royal family/nobility in this game). As you peel back the layers of the countries, organizations like the Septian Church, Bracer Guild, or Jaegers, and the kind of issues that even the common people are thinking about as events unfold (every NPC has something new to say at every story beat, no matter how silly or inconsequential), you really get a sense of how this world operates. It makes sense, it’s cohesive, and the way major, RPG-typical events are handled socially and diplomatically is consistent. The world has developed from the Dark Ages to basic-computers-and-cell-phones era tech in the span of 50 years, and that’s causing social chaos, with old aristocracies of large kingdoms and empires now having small nation-states and wealthy civilian enterprises that could seriously threaten them if they wanted to. There are things that happen far back in the lore which have no bearing on current events, but they’re there because it informs something about the world and how organizations relate to each other and how the social and political climate has shifted over time. Okay, I need to stop myself, because this is turning into a video script. To consolidate all that, the world these games take place in is an interesting one, and that makes what would usually be stock plots more engaging when they happen there. And I actually find the gameplay to be quite fun; the first Sky has rough edges to be sure, but it improves quickly from there and gets to being quite enjoyable for me.

Or maybe he's just named Crow because of the animal (Student-Crow's S-Craft is named Cross Raven after all) "The crow is a totem animal associated with the mysteries of life and magic. The power of this totem bird is to provide the perspective and the means to support your goals and aspirations. A sign of luck, it is also associated with the archetype of the crook and deception" Mysteries? Someone that has a goal and do everything to attain it? A Crook? Seems like our good ol' Crow to me But that would be a really subtle reference if they tought about that too, more subtle than a certain friend of Crow... --'

And just shows how OP Rean will be once he masters his power AND the Eight Leaves swordsmanship. I have to smirk when people keep playing the argument that Laura can win against Rean when the game itself even shows an event where Rean actually fights an all-out Sara and fights her to a draw, WITHOUT his Ogre power. To say nothing of the fact he toyed with the heroes of the Crossbell arc.
@LeonGun88 жыл бұрын
***** Rean tends to hold himself back. He could have overwhelmed Duvalie and driven back PhantomThief B, to say nothing of Xeno, Leonidas and ALtina. The only one who could have stopped him on that ship was McBurn.. And the Finale is not exactly the best way of determining Rean's ability to beat them, especially since every single time they were saved because they had an important battle that they couldn't take on a half-tank,not because it was impossible for them to win (Mcburn fight excluded), so it's more like Rean (and Sara) never went-full power until his fight with Vita and Crow, who he defeated handily. Let's point out Sara wasn't doing so hot either and she's supposed to be the best Bracer in Erebonia.

Sen no Kiseki/Trails of Cold Steel 2 has to be, in my opinion, the game with the best overall music of any entry in the series. It has the best tracks from the previous game and adds numerous phenomenal even better tracks like this one.

Love how this is crow's theme basically the whole story of trails of cold steel 1 and 2 felt like naruto and sasuke all over again with being naruto the one who wants to bring back his friend no matter what while crow being sasuke is more or less focused on his own goals while having no desire being brought back yet i like to think the rean and crow saw eachother as brothers

You guys are geniuses, up there right with Uematsu Nobuo. I've had a playlist of Trails of cold steel music playing for the past 6 weeks or so, And I still find it to be absolutely amazing. Trails of cold steel has amazing characters, story, gameplay and sidequests. But for me, It's really the Music that ties it all together. I will never get tired of theses songs.

I agree 100%. JRPGs for me are all about the music. Yes, they can have amazing characters but the music is what makes every moment 10 times better and turns em into powerful memories that last forever. I still remember almost everything that happened in these games and I've terrible memory usually lol. I listen to the soundtracks daily so maybe that's what helps me. But either way, Trails is goated

You need to get on Zero and Ao, they have by far the best music in the game that make everything else except maybe sen IV look pretty bad.

Me: "Gale is the perfect sword technique, it cannot possibly be improved" Rean Schwarzer after Spirit Unification: "Arcane Gale!"
@Joker8pie4 жыл бұрын
Replayed CS2 recently and god damn is Arcane Gale so busted. Say you have a level 5 Force master quartz on him and you 1-shot 5 enemies with the first strike of Arcane Gale, that's 100 CP restored. But Arcane Gales second strike *counts as killing each enemy a second time* so you get ANOTHER 100 CP. Rean bean the lean craft machine.

Gale in CS3, with brave and monolith, both true gladiators acc and SU made Rean strong as hell
