He is willing to take on his own Party. If more representatives in both Parties were willing to do this, we might have avoided the Second War in Iraq and the disasters in Syria and Libya. We might have refrained from accompanying/supporting Saudi Arabia in war crimes in Yemen. But that would presume putting the country first over partisan interests.

I don't particularly care about it either but with that said I believe the u.s. obligation to care is due to the fact he worked for a US firm. I absolutely believe it is not worth any billion dollar deals with Saudi Arabia with his murder alone but it does set a dangerous precedent. I like this man in many of his point but I entirely disagree with him on this. The nature of intelligence is secrecy, you do not want to have everybody know about everything, but rather a small number of the most qualified people, just what is essential, no more no less. That goes for every step in the hierarchy of the intelligence community, up to and including congress. It would be up for debate who, or what number of people should be briefed and why, but most definitely the entire senate should not have access to secret intelligence information for reasons that to me are obvious. Things could be miscontrued for political purposes, political gains, leaks (intentional and otherwise) and just plain treason. It has nothing to do with deep state. In fact, if I was a new senator and wanted to conspire against out current system or law and order, it'd be so much easier if I had this kind of access and the power that comes along with it.
