Does anyone get the feeling that these types just dislike the idea of ordinary people having more money in general? It seems like that's their first priority, and then they have to try to rationalize taking it away from them with 'inflation', 'wasteful welfare', 'minimum wage kills jobs' etc. You cut government waste by eliminating the private middle men from healthcare, negotiating ALL drug prices, and raising the Social Security tax cap to tax more than the first $168,000 so that rich people actually pay into it - that would extend the Social Security trust fund for decades. You don't cut it by taking away people's Medicare and retirement money that they paid into for their whole lives. But they seem so eager and excited to have these 'hard conversations'. Gleeful, almost.
