So in 2021 the net federal support to Idaho was $2301 per person. Meaning each citizen in Idaho got $2301 more from the federal government than what they contributed with. I think one has to give Red States credit for providing the next generation of workers, spending $20,000 per kid for schooling. Who cares if Cali and NY send extra $2000 basically per Capita to DC, this is less than cost of educating a growing pop. Texas has doubled since 1970s, lots of kids, while MN and NY haven't grown, literally this is extra 100 million people the red states are paying to handle since 1970.. . . If all of US was like blue states we would have no future.... If you look at voting districts boundaries, you will see they are drawn to make sure the big cities control the outcome of every election . It's complicated because, even with the studies they have been doing and unlike surface water users where the water flow is apparent, they don't really know if the threatened ground water users are tapping into the same water flow. This battle has been brewing for decades, and like many things, it starts boiling down to who has the political clout instead of the scientific data.
