As the mom of 2 young males with rare disorders who loved music, money was always tight, but we made extensive use of the community offered concerts in the Detroit area pre-pandemic. Prior to the Great Recession, local community centers frequently would allow talented groups to have ticketed performances that were less inexpensive than the commercial giants. Of course, here in Detroit the need to play/sing our music is so strong that you're just as likely to see impromptu performances on the streets or in the farmer's markets, weather permitting. I've only recently become aware of the abuses of pricing by Ticketmaster and their monopolistic behavior. That's something that we worked to get rid of several decades ago, and apparently need to once again. I'm grateful for any and all help that Whitehouse and his colleagues can give on this issue.
