Sena SF4 | Installation & Review/Test

A quick install and review of the Sena SF4. I installed before a motorcycle trip and got to use it for a few days in real world usage.

great video with easy instruction, I have the same helmet and fastened the microphone stalk further back inside helmet which effectively shortened how long microphone is in front of me. At this stage no problem with helmet closure or microphone touching face. Thanks again.

There is a fin on the microphone. Does this face the speakers mouth or away from the speakers mouth? Cheers Kym

No problem, thank you for the clear review! Got a question tho; if on call with someone, how well can the other person understand you? The 5S was so clear, the one on the other side couldn't even hear road noise. Also, how well does the BT4.1 function? I'd prefer a newer standard, but if this works just fine, this would be my next option

@@JustCarnivorousCupcake Great questions. I am told by others that the audio quality is good. I can be heard and am clear. With one exception. I am hearing impaired so I usually have the volume quite loud/maxed when I ride. Then I’ve been told there’s an echo. I assume because the microphone can hear the speakers. If I dial the volume back two notches, it clears up again. I’ve also been told by the other person they can’t hear the road noise. Only if I really rev the engine when taking off or passing. Thanks so much for your comment. I checked out the manual. You can listen to FM radio or GPS navigation desiring an intercom session. But apparently not music. I will attempt this and see if there was a firmware update to allow music.

While I want to simply just say yes because the Sena SF4 does have the “universal intercom” functionality, it does depend on the other intercom. Because I believe it connects over Bluetooth. I have personally never paired any Sena with another brand comm unit. Thanks for your comment.

Damn , your videos sound like how it’s made . It’s intoxxicating lol . Fr tho your voice and explain his great . I am so tired of my 20s . It sounds like crap and wind noise causes her at highways speed to say “say a command” n I can’t say anything but pushing the button stops it . Also it falls off now and the pins don’t even stay in contact . The music keeps stopping amd then randomly playing . Ya . It’s enough of that lol out with the old n in with the new 🤗 oh ya the mic. I have it closer inside toward my cheek . Same boom mic I had it out before n ya that was happening as well 🙂
